This framed mirror tray looks great on our “new” coffee table.
Welcome to this month’s installation of Thrifty Style Team. My framed mirror tray is a perfect example of thrifty style in home decor. I am in the beginning stage of giving my living room a makeover. It all started with this coffee table that has been sitting in our storage unit.
I’ve been pining away for it ever since I dreamt up a new vision for the living room. Being that we are trying to empty out our storage unit, I knew this gold table would be perfect. So, last week Honey Bee and I retrieved it and brought it home.
The table is very heavy. It has a filigree gold base made of iron and a triple beveled glass top. We used this table in our former home and I always loved it.
Once I got the table into place, I wanted to add a tray on top. Lord knows, I have lots of trays LOL. The trouble was, none of them looked right on top of the glass. I dug around in the garage and found this mirror that I bought a couple of months ago at the thrift store.
Good as Gold
This beautiful gold framed mirror was only $1.50, as it was 50% off. The mirror is antique and Italian made.To craft it into a tray was amazingly simple. I popped off the jagged metal piece that was used for hanging. On each corner I added fuzzy circles that will protect the glass table.
I love the way light bounces off of the mirror.
Even Gus loves the new table and tray! I hope that you do too!
