We are so happy that our weather has been beautiful and we are able to paint furniture outdoors again! Today, we are sharing with you another trash-to-treasure makeover.
I found this barstool curbside in front of my neighbors house. Now, in my subdivision you are not permitted to place furniture or loose items at the curb. I felt especially fortunate that someone was not a rule follower and I got this great barstool for free!
It was not in the prettiest condition but it was solid and sturdy…
The legs were fairly worn and beat-up…
We painted the legs with leftover chalk paint in a blue-green hue.
The seat was very stained. It looked as though several types of liquids had been rested on it over a period of time.
The seat top was painted with leftover black chalk paint…
We then decided the seat needed a little something else – so we decided to paint a design using a stencil…
…secured the stencil in place with painters tape.
And painted the design using white chalk paint.
I love how crisp white the design is.
Now, to decide whose house it will belong in 🙂
This was a very quick project as the chalk paint dried very fast. The best part is that it didn’t cost us any money – the chair was rescued from the curb and we had all other materials on-hoand from other projects. Our favorite kind 🙂
Have you made a curbside rescue lately? We’d love to hear about it!
