Hey y’all…I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Our sweet friend Tara of Lehman Lane kindly invited us to share our Garden and Outdoors Spaces.
Today kicks off the tour which will be going on all week. So, grab your cup of coffee, sit back and relax and view the five featured bloggers today. The links will be at the end of this post.
Personally I’ve been nursing bronchitis all week which honestly has been a bit of a blessing. I know…crazy, right? I’ve been going non-stop with all burners lit for the past three months. Finally, my body wore out and said “enough is enough”. The blessing in this for me is that the illness forced me to stop, rest and lay down for a minute. And in that rest I could plan, dream and scribble notes about things I want to do and accomplish. Like my Summer Patio Garden Tour.
In my new home we don’t have a large porch or deck – we have a little patio area. But we are so lucky to have a wide expanse of woods right out our own front door. We live in a ground level townhome quad – there are four houses attached in one big square, if that makes sense. It’s in a very pretty area in the country – lots of nature, beauty, quiet and the lake.
I planted three hydrangea bushes and they are all in full bloom right now. I love coming outside and cutting a few blooms to display inside the the house. They last for weeks in a vase of water.
This path leads around to our front door…
…along the way we have our hummingbird feeder and the bird-feeder that I made a few years ago. You can see how to make your own Mason jar 3 minute bird-feeder HERE.
Our patio is small but ample enough to host parties.
I created this wine barrel table several years ago. It’s perfect for serving cocktails, beverages and snacks.
This little patio surprisingly can hold a lot of people. We typically need extra seating and these vintage wooden folding chairs fit the bill. I bought them several years ago for $1.00 a piece! That’s right – a dollar! I bought all 7 of them.
Ferns to me exemplify “Southern Charm”. Ferns are resilient to the heat as long as you water them a lot.
Our guests expect special bevs when they arrive and I am very happy to oblige! 🙂
This vintage 1940’s wrought iron patio garden set has traveled all over the country with me and our moves. It has been painted many colors of the rainbow…white, green, pink, black and now brown. I just love the detail…
Being at the lake, I fell in love with this outdoor lantern with a fish finial.
My bestie Bambi is so very good to be. For my birthday she gifted me with this adorable outdoor lantern. It is especially meaningful as it is adorned with bees.
This weathered placard greets our guests…
Being that space is limited on the patio, I opted to add hanging plants outside of the fenced patio and hung them on shepherds hooks. This way I still get to enjoy the colorful plants, but they aren’t taking up valuable real estate on the patio.
The bees are very happy!
I even managed to squeeze in a patio tomato plant in the space.
It won’t be too long now!
I love our front door area…the stacked stone is my favorite. I’ve been on the hunt for quite awhile now trying to find the perfect plant stand for the front door. I’ve temporarily used this vintage side table and I have to admit…it looks pretty cute out here. The problem is, the area is not covered and this table can’t take the rain. So, the hunt continues…
I honestly don’t even know what this wreath is made of. They are some type of dried pods and I fell for the color.
I was thrilled when I found this “hey y’all” sign. It was a whopping $2.00 clearance item. It originally had a faux wood finish that just looked too faux, if you know what I mean. I painted it with a bit of old white chalk paint.
The bottom pedestal is perfect to display more plants.
This sweet terra cotta piggy was a gift from Jenn several years ago. I think Piggy looks great out here greeting guests.
Speaking of guests…we sit back and wait for their arrival!
We are so fortunate that the visiting deer are almost a daily occurrence.
I hope you enjoyed my part of the tour.

Your gardens are so pretty! I really like your door wreath, too. The brick is being added to our new home and I’m considering door colors. Dark gray is high on the list. Love how your front porch looks!
Hi Zenda – thank you so very much! We wish we knew what the wreath was made of…they are like dried pods. We are sure your new home will be amazing!
Such a beautiful outdoor tour Vicki! Yay for planting hydrangeas, they are my favorite! That pig by your front door with the succulents is adorable and I love your new green wreath. It looks a bit like belles of Ireland to me but I can’t be sure. Your patio space is so inviting. I love your vintage table and the wine barrel table you made. The chairs with the chalkboard sign is so clever. Thanks so much for joining in the garden/ outdoor space hop and I hope you are feeling better. Such a great tour!
Seriously, super cute! I love love love the mix of plants you have and that stacked stone – I can’t even! Great use of space and ideas 🙂 I’m pinning and sharing as we speak. Hugs, CoCo
I love all of it! Those Hydrangeas are gorgeous, mine for some reason this year have not bloomed yet. I am not sure what is going on with them, yours make me want mine to bloom even more! Your outdoor space is so pretty and welcoming.
It’s lovely and I love the inspiring details (you know: “oh I should do this” and “ahhh great idea that”).
🙂
Oh my gosh, I love this space!! The barrel drink table is perfect, I want one! 🙂 And I love the little pig, and those vintage chairs are awesome to have around for extra space! I wish I lived close enough to enjoy one of your special drinks!
I love everything about your space- from those gorgeous hydrangeas to your patio, wine barrel table and piggy planters! I could definitely get used to relaxing and entertaining in this space 🙂 We have lots of deer visitors, too. My only complaint with them is they eat all my pretty flowers 😛 But I’m still glad to have them around.
Oh how I’d love to be sitting on your beautiful patio with one of your signature bevs about now! It’s just beautiful.
xoxoBambi
Just beautiful! I love your patio area. That stonework on your house is gorgeous and the wine barrel table is AWESOME!
Those hydrangea bushes are to swoon over! I love all the great garden pieces around your patio, such a stylish area of your home. That wreath looks like some type of leaves. So unique. I see you have deer too, I have them everyday here in Bluffton, SC. Take care Maria
What a beautiful outdoor/garden tour! I love your hydrangeas. I have blue ones too! I love how inviting your patio looks. Thanks for sharing!
What a great use of space that you’ve decorated so beautifully. I love all the decorative touches – the wine barrel table, succulent planter, and your vintage folding chairs! We have a set of chairs too for additional seating – so much better than plastic or metal, right?
ok, so let’s talk about how many things I love from this space. That wine barrel table, the gorgeous plants, the table setting, the Y’all sign (on the cheap no less!) and then the deer. I want to come over. Spectacular friend!!!
I love your outdoor space. My favorite spot are the wood chairs with the “Grab a Seat” sign on them. I will be using that idea for sure!
I love this space! So many great elements! I especially like your pig planter, the “grab a seat” and the barrel stand! So unique and perfect for outdoor entertaining. Enjoy!
Your patio and porch could not be cuter! That “hey ya’ll” sign on that little table is my favorite part! I love the “grab a seat” sign on the folding chairs, too. Everything looks so inviting!
Such a beautiful space!! I love all the personal touches! Your hydrangeas are making me swoon! Love your wreath!
Exactly as I expected! A space I would love to sit and visit in, and to sit back and relax too. Just gorgeous as can be, and with so much personality too! I love it!
I love your hydrangea and your pretty front door area! The stacked stone is gorgeous!
