Hey y’all…I am so excited that Summer is here! While I must admit I really don’t care for the heat and humidity there is so much more that I do love about Summertime. Get togethers, cookouts, dinner parties, boating on the lake, swimming in the pool, impromptu porch parties and so much more.
I’ve been very busy updating the house since we moved in a few short weeks ago. It has been a lot of work but I have loved every minute of it. I’m excited to share my Summer Lake House Tour with you. You won’t get to see the entire house yet but there is definitely enough here today to show you what I’ve been up to. I warn you – this post is definitely photo heavy. A big thank you to our sweet friend Meg of Green With Decor for inviting us to share our homes. Last week I showed you the outside of my home with my Summer Patio Tour.
So, come on in and take a look around…
The entryway is right inside the front door. I painted this dresser over 8 years ago and decided that I love the way it looks here. Plus, as an added bonus it offers extra storage that we desperately need now that we have downsized.
I love typography…I created this art and printed it on vintage book pages. It took just 2 minutes to make! You can see how I did that with this post HERE.
If you have been reading our blog for awhile, you know that Jenn and I love to decorate with vintage books. I have several navy blue books and they are some of my favorites now.
The vintage brass clips are the beginnings of a new collection. I would really love to add the whale to the group 🙂
These french doors lead to our sunroom. This room is one of my most favorite in the house. We recently painted it in Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy and it looks beautiful!
The room is flooded with sunshine all day long. The sunroom is wrapped with windows and a Palladian window.
I love the combination of blue and white. The room is so comfortable and inviting. The coffee table is actually a handmade tool box from 1920.
I love that the owner wrote this inscription inside.
Other than the sofa and the coffee table, I painted all of the other furniture in the room – both side tables and the two chairs.
I made the lake picket sign a couple of years ago. You can read that post HERE.
Y’all know I’m obsessed with feathers 🙂 I also have a soft spot for vintage cameras.
This wooden bowl is so rustically perfect. I added a few moss balls, rattan balls and objects found in nature.
The living room is also bathed in light. The mantel is a great focal point in the corner.
This painting is from our former guest room in the old house.
All of these items were found on one beach trip excursion…
…the antique nautical pulley was a $5 antique shop purchase in St. Augustine Beach.
This fabulous canoe was a birthday gift given to me several weeks ago. It became the inspiration piece for the new color scheme and decor for the house.
Cobalt blue glass is so pretty! I just love the bright blue.
All of these bottles are vintage – like this old Bromo Seltzer bottle.
Whew…that was a lot of pictures. Thank you for visiting my Summer Lake House Tour – so glad you stopped by. I will be sharing more and more with you in the coming weeks.
Jenn will be sharing part of her home tomorrow so you won’t want to miss it.

Oh my gosh! You guys have been working SO hard! I love the blue and white color scheme you’ve chosen throughout your house. It’s gorgeous and screams lakeside living. I’m so excited for you. Hugs, CoCo
Lovely! Congratulations on a job well done!
Fantastic! The bright colors against the white and light shades of gray really stand out.
Oh my gosh, I love everything!! I would spend all my time in that sunroom, what an awesome space! Love the LAKE sign, too. And that dresser in the entryway!
Your home is so, so lovely. And that sunroom!?!?! The navy walls paired with all of the neutral furniture and amazing natural light is so beautiful! I also love all of your “found” and vintage pieces; they work together so well. Thanks for giving us a tour today 🙂
Gorgeous Vicki!! I LOVE the navy blue!
Beautiful home tour. Love your sun-room and the navy and white is gorgeous. That coffee table tool box is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my! Your home looks perfect for summer! I am with you, I don’t like the heat and humidity at all. This week, we have 70 degree weather! I am loving it! I always have fun touring with you ladies!
Perfection! I love the sunroom and decorating with all the blues. I have never seen brass clips before. I’ll have to be on the lookout for those next time I go antiquing. Those are soooo cool! Everything is so pretty and well put together. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy your new home!
