I always find it hard to decorate after Christmas is over…I put a lot of time into decorating my home for the holidays and in one day it looks like Christmas never happened. There are no more twinkling lights to enjoy on my drive home from work or when I enter my home and quite frankly it’s depressing. I usually replace my Christmas decor with what was there before, but this year I wanted to switch it up and get myself out of my post-holiday blues with a mantel refresh!
I just wanted to do something light and basic (a departure from my Christmas decor) and I wanted to incorporate things I already had. I didn’t have to purchase a thing that I used for my mantel refresh!
I got this print at Woodstock Market months ago and hadn’t done anything with it…I also had a window frame that I found on a neighboorhood walk a while back and I had what I thought was a genius idea. Why not use the window as a picture frame? I just love how it turned out!
I love these owls…and the best part is I got them from the Dollar Store!
I already had the yellow vases and wood boxes…the cotton was left over from the wedding. In fact I think mom incorporated cotton into her mantel too 🙂
I really do love how it turned out and am glad that I did something completely different. It’s nice to change things up every now and then 🙂
XO, Jennifer
Jenn this is so cute! I love the gray and yellow mix with all your rustic elements. That old window meets poster idea is totally genius!
Thanks CoCo! I bought that poster at Woodstock Market. I can’t believe that if fit perfectly into the window frame 🙂 I’m never that lucky.
This looks great Jenn! Simple and fresh and good into spring. Love the gray and yellow ~ the poster/window combo is PERFECT! Stay warm 🙂 Bwg ~~~
I appreciate it Bobbi. My living room is gray and yellow – I love it. Such soothing colors to come home to at the end of a long day 🙂
Jennifer, I love your fresh mantel. I agree and keep looking at mine and want to change it too. Yours is darling and the Bees print is the best!!! Love the pops of yellow too. Lisa
You’re so sweet Lisa! The print is so cute…I bought one for mom too 🙂
So pretty, Jenn! The print looks amazing in that window frame. I love the owls too!
I soooo need to show my mantel some love! Right now mine looks like it’s saying welcome to boredom. LOL! I love what you did! 🙂
