The entryway to my home was in desperate need of some help. After Christmas this past year, I took down our Christmas Card holder display we had in the entryway and then just never put anything in its place. So for the past 8 months it has looked sad and lonely 🙁
I decided that it was time to add a little bit of life back into this space! It’s a small area, but I was really able to use the wall to make it more inviting and warm. Luckily for me, I already had most of the items that inspired my little re-do. I just absolutely love how it turned out!
This is a postcard that my great grandmother, Bessie Love Johnson, wrote to my great great great grandmother, Georgia Fisher, on Christmas Eve in 1883. My mom had the post card blown up and it was given to me at Christmas several years ago. I love that this is now one of the first things you see when you walk in.
I got this picture frame and Scott’s Antique Market about 3 years ago and just never found a place for it until now!
Don’t you love this industrial “Home” sign? I got it at Homegoods for a steal!
The space is now so much more inviting and welcoming for our guests and honestly for us too! It’s definitely not sad anymore 🙂
Vicki and Jennifer, I love your new entry way makeover. I LOVE the Home sign and I love the story behind the postcard from Bessie. I love everything, it’s beautiful and very welcoming!! have a great day, Lisa
Thanks Lisa! We love how the space looks as well. That “HOME” sign is a wonderful greeting at the end of the day 🙂
