Hey y’all! While we were at Haven this past weekend, I was literally walking by at the right time. The Haven Team were giving away table centerpieces that had been made for one of the lunches and I was a lucky recipient! I was ecstatic to say the least!! The centerpieces were handmade by two bloggers – they are wooden and rustic and totally my style. Especially since they were filled with beautiful succulents. I have been wanting succulents and I knew this would be the perfect addition to my house. A summer mantel refresh with succulents was just what I needed.
Let’s get started
I decided to stain the wood container so that it would better match my decor and fit in with my living room. I just used a gray stain that is made by Rustoleum called Weathered Gray (love it!). And I was sure to take the succulents out…I will say that for a moment I thought about painting around them, but then thought better of it 🙂
I lightly sanded the edges to give it a more rustic, weathered look.
You could use polyuerthane after your stain it, but I prefer to not.
The stain dries fairly quick and once it was dry I placed the succulents back in and began staging my mantel. I am really pleased with how it all turned out!
I am so happy to have this new addition in my home to help me spruce up my mantel…and it’s the perfect fit! Summer mantel refresh with succulents.
I spy with my green little eye – perfection!
