For those of you who don’t already know this, I’m engaged! We are underway into our wedding planning, picking a date & venue, a photographer, and for me, one of the most important things of all…my bridesmaids! The decision on who these would be wasn’t hard. If anything, it was harder to narrow down the list. If I had my way I’d probably have 14 bridesmaids (I’m definitely a lucky girl 🙂 )
I wanted to ask my friends to be my bridesmaid in a special and creative way, as well as something they could keep as a memento for years to come. Since Christmas is right around the corner, I thought it would be a great idea to make them ornaments.
I decided to use clear ornaments that I would then put strips of paper in. First thing I did was create the strips…I used things like our wedding date, names, as well as memories I had with each of my friends. And of course, the main thing…”Will you be my bridesmaid?”
I’m so thankful that my mother has a paper cutter, or I would have been there for days!
In order to have them really contour to the ornament, I just used my finger and wrapped the piece of paper around.
I used fake snow and placed this on the bottom of the ornament…
Then we began putting the strips of paper into the ornaments…
I put a lot of strips of paper into the ornament so it would look full.
Purple is going to be one of our colors at the wedding, so I used purple ribbon for the ornaments.
I also used a tag and put each of my bridesmaid’s names on it…
Here is what it looked like before we shipped it off…I made sure to have the main question sticking out in each package.
These are all of the boxes before I shipped them off…I definitely needed help bringing them to check out 🙂
Luckily all of the ornaments arrived safe and sound (and everyone said yes)! Here is one on my friend Jill’s tree…
I can’t wait until October when we can all celebrate together and I am so thankful that I will have my closest friends by my side!
