Hey there…Did you just get engaged? Congratulations!! I have done a wedding roundup from my personal wedding in October in the hopes of giving you some inspiration and possibly make things easier for your big day.

We went with a rustic and vintage theme, which is totally our aesthetic.  We also really wanted to make some of the decor ourselves to make it more special for both us and our guests.  It turned out to be even more of a perfect day than I could have ever imagined.

Wedding Ideas Roundup…were you fortunate enough to get engaged for Christmas or possibly the New Year. We've collected ideas from my wedding that will help make your planning easier.

DIY Bridal Shower Favors – Teacup Candles

I absolutely love these candles my mom made for my bridal shower as favors.  They were definitely a huge hit and easy to make!

“Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” Ornament

When asking my friends if they wanted to be my bridesmaid, I wanted to do something creative, as well as something they could keep as a memento.  And what better way than to make an ornament? 🙂

Wedding Guest Favors

These adorable little jars of honey were perfect to give to our rehearsal dinner guests…who wouldn’t love the bee?

Wedding Guest Hotel Welcome Bags

We had a lot of out of town guests who came to our wedding and we wanted to make them feel welcome the moment they arrived. We added a lot of local items like a glass bottle of Coca Cola and Nora Mill Grits. We also love the canvas bags with the vintage map!

Wedding Guest Hotel Welcome Bags - We definitely wanted a vintage, Southern collection. Canvas bags with a vintage map of Georgia. Inside the bags: mimi Coke bottles, Jack Daniels minis, Nutty Bars, our favorite Nora Mill grits, Vintage Atlanta thank you postcard.

Vintage Postcard Wedding Guest Book

We knew we didn’t want a traditional wedding guest book and when this idea struck me, I knew it would be perfect! Such a great way for friends and family to write down their best wishes.

Vintage postcard guest book. Instead of the traditional guestbook, we decided to use vintage postcards for wedding guests to write sentiments on the back.

DIY Rustic Wedding Table Numbers

This is probably my favorite project that we did and we absolutely love how they turned out!

DIY Wedding Table numbers. We used old fencing, vintage door knobs, vintage escutcheons, and metal numbers to create unique table numbers for the reception.

Wedding Escort Cards

A good friend of ours owns an antique store and we told him to be on the lookout for skeleton keys. Lucky for us, he received a large amount of them right when we needed them 🙂

Wedding Escort Cards - keeping with our vintage and rustic theme - antique skeleton keys were used as our escort cards that matched well with our DIY table numbers. The keys and cards were added to a large, moss covered frame.

Wedding Guest Favors

Music is important to us, so I pretty much knew from the beginning that a personalized cd is what I wanted to give our wedding guests.  And thanks to etsy we were able to find an awesome cd cover that really fit our wedding style.

We hope that you got some ideas and inspiration for your upcoming wedding!  And don’t be afraid to tackle some things on your own. You may be asking yourself during the process why you decided to do so much on your own, but at the end of the day the reward is so much bigger!
