Pumpkin spice sugar scrub is a perfect exfoliant for your skin.

Our favorite time of year cannot arrive soon enough for us. Fall is on its way in just one month and Jenn and I are more than ready! As we mention each year, we know it’s a little early for Fall posts. We offer you these early posts so that you can be prepared for the season too. First up is our pumpkin spice sugar scrub.

For me, Fall is such a beautiful time of year. The temperatures cool down, leaves change color and we tend to slow down just a bit. Also, I’m drawn to everything pumpkin spice. In case you haven’t heard, Starbucks might be releasing their Pumpkin Spice Latte on August 28th!   You can read THIS article that started the rumor.

The downside with cooler weather is that my skin tends to be dry. Sugar scrubs work wonders for my skin. With just a few pantry items, I was able to create this amazing pumpkin spice sugar scrub.

Yield: Approximately 1 cup

Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub is a perfect exfoliant for dry skin. Plus it smells amazing!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Additional Time 5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw sugar - you may substitute 3/4 cup white sugar + 1/4 brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 TBS Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Add all of the ingredients into a medium bowl.
  2. Using a spoon, mix well. Be sure all clumps are smooth and that the coconut oil is well blended.
  3. Spoon the mixture into a small Mason jar with a tight fitting lid. Better yet, divide the mixture into two jars - one for you and one for a friend.
  4. When showering, use a small amount to exfoliate skin as needed. It smells amazing!
The grains of the sugar exfoliate as you scrub it into your skin. The coconut oil in the scrub will leave your skin feeling extra soft and smooth when you towel off. Sugar is a natural source of glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that penetrates the skin and breaks down the “glue” that bonds skin cells, encouraging cell turnover and generating fresher, younger-looking skin. Glycolic acid is typically used to treat sun-damaged and aging skin – so this scrub is a big bonus for your skin!

Plus, did I mention that it is pumpkin spice? It smells amazing and is truly a mood lifter as well.

Place the sugar scrub in a cute jar with a tight fitting lid.

I even created a label for the top of the jar. If you would like to print one for your pumpkin spice sugar scrub, you can PRINT IT HERE.

Adorable, right?

With our recipe, feel free to add extra seasoning spice to your preference.

Even sweet Gus approved! I had a hard time keeping him away.

We hope that you give our Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub a try. Your skin will thank you!
