Hey there…Jennifer and I can’t tell you how much we appreciate all of you. Y’all are fabulous – you check-in on me and my healing process and you offer Jennifer love and encouragement for her upcoming wedding. We do have a lot on our plates right now, but y’all are the bright spots for us… we love hearing from you! Thank you!!
Today’s post is a blast from last year. We absolutely use this scrub – especially as our weather begins to change. It feels so wonderful on our skin and it is so fragrant! We hope you give it a try! Remember…this also makes a great gift!
I absolutely love Fall and Winter…but these seasons wreak havoc on my skin. Ā It’s that time of year when the cooler temperatures make my skin become more and more dry. Ā To alleviate this problem,Ā I make this coconut and orange sugar scrub and use it faithfully to soothe my skin. Ā You don’t have to have dry skin to enjoy the benefits of this scrub. Ā I find the orange oil fragrance to be uplifting and invigorating – not to mention how smooth your skin will feel. Ā The coconut orange sugar scrub would also make a great low-cost gift for the holidays.
Ingredients:
- One cup of coconut oil at room temperature
- 1/2 cup organic cane sugar – you can also use brown sugar
- 1/2 cup coarse sea salt
- 20-30 drops of sweet orange essential oil – the potency of oil varies by brand. Ā Add a little at a time so as not to overpower the scrub with fragrance.
When you mix together all of the ingredients it resembles the consistency of frosting. Ā On the morning that I made this scrub, my house was very cool as our temperatures in Atlanta dropped overnight. Ā Even though my coconut oil was room temperature, it was hardened. Ā I placed a cupful in the microwave for 30 seconds. Ā I didn’t melt it at all – i just wanted a smooth, creamy consistency.
See the scrub glistening? Ā That’s what it will do for your skin š
This recipe made enough coconut and orange sugar scrub for a very small Ball jar and a small Ikea jar.
I hope you give this scrub recipe a try. Ā Your skin will thank you š
