How To Do A Spring Refresh in the Bedroom

Thank goodness Spring has officially arrived, because I’ve had Spring Fever for weeks now! I have been busily cleaning and moving all-of-the-things in my home. One area that has been neglected for a bit is my master bedroom. Maybe you have neglected your room too. Here’s how to do a Spring refresh in the bedroom.

Today, I have joined 5 of my blogging friends. We will each share a Spring Bedroom Refresh. You will get to see all of their beautiful bedrooms at the end of my post. If you are visiting from Vintage Joyce Marie – welcome!

Keep it Clean

Whenever I clean my home, I start at the top and work my way down. Especially if I’m doing a deep Spring clean. Nothing is left untouched:

  • crown moulding
  • ceiling fan
  • headboard
  • armoire
  • glassware
  • nightstands
  • dresser
  • mirror
  • under the bed
  • rug
  • floor

Fresh White Linens

For me, nothing screams SPRING quite like fresh, crisp white linens. Honestly, I prefer white sheets year-round. Boll & Branch are our absolute favorites. Their cotton percale hemmed sheet set is perfect for our spring refresh. Light, fresh, airy and they launder beautifully.

Even my sweet Gus can’t resist snuggling. Although he makes it difficult to make the bed. LOL

Lighten Up

I love the teal colors in my bedroom. Now that winter is over, I move the dark teal coverlet to the bottom of the bed. I replace this with a lightweight, creamy white matelasse coverlet.

Fresh Flowers or Plants

For me, flowers and plants add life to a room. On my nightstand, I love to display a small bouquet of flowers. They look pretty and smell fabulous. Sometimes, I change this up with a plant or two in the room. Pothos ivy plants are the easiest to grow and take care of. You can read all about indoor plants here.

Before going to bed at night, I love to set a calm and peaceful tone. An essential oil pillow mist is a must for me. Jenn and Kara gifted me this one from Ireland. This particular mist has a blend of bergamot and eucalyptus. Just a couple of sprays and I’m soon off to LaLa Land.

Or, use a diffuser. A diffuser is used to fill the air in a room with tiny, breathable particles of beneficial essential oils and water. Depending on the essential oils that you use, this gives the room a calmer, pleasant-smelling ambiance. I use this little diffuser on my desk each day. A few others are used throughout the house.

Keep it separate

Speaking of desk – my workspace is in the master bedroom.

Not perfectly ideal, but I make it work (pun intended LOL). I only have a few items on my desk. Most importantly, this space is cleaned up at the end of the workday. This keeps the bedroom uncluttered and I don’t think about work every time I enter my room.

On a side note – my bestie Bambi gifted me this beautiful bee. It looks perfect on my desk and it’s great for holding clips.

And of course, what kind of Kiki would I be if I didn’t have a photo of my sweet Everett on the desk? He’s changed so much in the past few weeks – time to change this out!

I hope that you have been inspired in some small way today. Now, take a look at what my talented friends created! Up next is our sweet friend Cindy of DIY Beautify. You will love her Spring Bedroom Refresh.
