Mountain Getaway
Can you believe that it is September?! Where is the the time going?
Honey Bee and I just returned from a much needed getaway to the Smoky Mountains! We rented a beautiful cabin on the Alarka River in North Carolina. Our mountaintop cabin had no WiFi, internet or television reception. Even our “hotspot” connection didn’t work. As we would travel up and down the winding roads, I noticed that some people had satellites in their yards that looked large enough to launch a rocket. LOL
This was a wonderful opportunity to totally disconnect – from phones, laptops, texts and emails. We re-connected by being outdoors with nature. Honey Bee fly fished to his hearts content. We traveled through the Great Smoky Mountain Park, which is always a fabulous time. The mountain scenery, much cooler temps and wildlife instantly invigorated us. On this trip we spotted wild turkey’s, elk and partridge.
The higher up the mountains we traveled, we could see the beginning tinges of fall color beginning. We even saw apple trees that are ready for picking. Needless to say, I’m energized and my creativity is over-flowing with ideas for fall.
Apple a Day
