Does something ever catch your eye and provide inspiration when you’re decorating? I would say it happens to us quite often. I have beautiful pampas grass growing in my backyard and it is all starting to bloom. The moment I saw it I just knew it would be perfect for a simple fall vignette for my coffee table. I wanted to keep the decor more natural so I went “shopping” around my home to see what I could use.
It was a little bit of trial and error trying to find just the right items to use. If you’ll notice only one item is truly “fall”. But I love how everything came together to create a more natural look as we transition to the new season.
I’ve never used pampas grass before and I was amazed at how soft it was. Now the grass part of the plant is another story. The pampas adds just enough height and texture to the fall vignette. It also looks great in the copper pitcher.
I am pretty sure I stole this book from mom a while ago, but the colors are just perfect for the coffee table vignette. The old railroad nail was a purchase I made at an antique store.
A little DIY…
Also, the one item that is typical fall decor is the pumpkin. However, this was actually just a wooden decor piece and I superglued a twig on top to make it into a pumpkin. Super cute and simple! I definitely need to make a few more.
The vintage spool is a find from one of my favorite stores in Decatur called Kudzu. I have used this throughout the years in my decor and is such a versatile piece. Check out this vignette I did a couple of years ago.
I am continuing to decorate for fall this week and excited to show you more decor ideas. One project I am working on is painting some Dollar Tree pumpkins for my mantel, so hopefully it turns out. Stay tuned!
