Fall welcome home door hanger

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a wreath making class. My friend Debra hosted the class and shared her creative ideas with our group. She is very talented and you can find her works at Wreaths on the Side by Debra. We were introduced to door hanger boards for the front door that we later embellished with greenery and bows. This is how I made a fall welcome home door hanger.

These steps give you a basic idea of what we learned in our workshop.

Cut 6″ wide burlap into 3 strips – 22″, 20″ and 3″.
for the 22″ and 20″ strips – fold each strip individually. fold each side towards the center. Place on top of each other.
Hold the two pieces together with a slip tie. Before tightening the tie, be sure that your double bow looks the way that you want. Also insert a pipe cleaner under the tie.
Fully tighten the slip tie and clip off the excess.
Our class also made a second bow. This is the one that I chose to use on my wreath.
the third piece of burlap is also folded to the back. Wrap around the double bow and hot glue into place.
For a fall look, I had this pumpkin spray in my stash from last year when it was 50% off.

The pumpkins easily strip off from the stem. The wire is still intact to use on the wreath.

Class is over

This is my completed wreath. I’m loving the mossy green colors paired with black and white.

Adding a pumpkin is always a good idea

I knew that I had these cute mini pumpkins at home in my stash. I bought them last year for 50% off.The wreath only needed a few of them to create a fall display.

The pumpkin stems easily pulled away from the bunch. Wire stems were still intact, making it easy to insert and wraparound the greenery pieces.

My front door now displays this cute Fall welcome home door hanger. I love it and hope that you do too!
