It’s almost hard to believe that Christmas is just five weeks away. Where has the year gone? We are busy readying our homes, making baking lists, purchased tickets for a local tour of homes and have filled our calendars with party and dinner celebrations.
I started thinking about hostess gifts and knew I wanted to make something different. Our first Christmas invite is Thanksgiving weekend so I knew I needed to get to work right away. I decided to create a Jingle Bell Door Hanger. This is what I used:
- Large over-sized bells that I found on Amazon for $2.00 each
- A holly pick with berries from Dollar Tree
- A package of red cardinals, also picked up at Dollar Tree
- Hot glue
- Rope or ribbon
I braided the rope and tied a loose knot at the top bell.
I pulled the holly leaves and berries off of the pick…
Then I began dotting the hot glue close to the top and added the holly leaves.
I glued down the cardinal and berries…
And look how cute it is hanging from the front door. You get to hear the gentle jingle bell sound each time the door opens and closes. This one is done with a rust bell and more rustic inspired.
I also did a silver and red bell for a more traditional look.
It honestly only took about two minutes to complete each bell.
I have two brass bells that I plan to complete next. Are you making any hostess gifts this year? What do you plan to make?
I love your ideas!! Thank you for sharing them. Hugs,
