Do y’all have your Thanksgiving plans set? John and I don’t have any big plans this year but I decided I still wanted to change up my Fall table and make it a bit different for Turkey Day. I don’t have the entire table completely decorated yet but I knew what I wanted it to look like.

I wanted to start by making tassels from simple jute twine. I also wanted to incorporate mementos into the tassel…like a skeleton key from Jennifer’s wedding and one of my grandma’s vintage buttons.

IMG_0330 IMG_0333I then cut a piece of twine that I thread through the top and securing with a knot.

IMG_0336 IMG_0337I cut another piece of twine and wrapped it around the top of the twine creating a bundle. I continued knotting the twine several times.

IMG_0345 IMG_0346Each twine was unwrapped – there three threads of twine per piece.

IMG_0354I added the skeleton key and the button to the tassel.

Then, the really fun part began…I started to put together just one place setting. I kept the pumpkins and gourds on the table, but I added navy and white dishes…
