Hey y’all…hope your week is going well. It has turned hotter than Hades here in Atlanta and the heat makes it hard to be motivated to do anything outside. I’ve focused all of my projects indoors – including furniture painting. I just can’t take that heat š
Today I’m happy to show you a little 5 minute project that I created for the revamping-in-progress guest bedroom. The room is coming together beautifully, albeit a tad slower than I would like. I wanted to create something meaningful and handmade for the room. On my recent vacation to the Florida Gulf Coast, my bestie Bambi gifted me a beautiful white starfish. It suddenly came to me what I could make for the room and incorporate this beautiful starfish.
Here’s what I used for my coastal inspired art:
- Rustic wood piece, approximately 8×10
- Starfish
- Hot glue gun
- White Paint
- Small paintbrush
I used another piece of the antique wood fencing that we also used for the Red, White and Blue Nautical Anchor Art and The Rustic Wedding Table Numbers for Jenn’s wedding. This wood has been great to have on-hand. It is already perfectly aged and colored to perfection.
I hot glued the starfish in the corner…
I wanted a short and sweet message to greet our guests that will be using this room…a couple of reservations have already been made š I instantly thought of “ahh…” It sums up how I feel when I am at the beach or lake and it is also how I want my guests to feel when they stay in this room. I want them to be totally comfortable and relaxed.
I’m the type of person that loves visitors and I like for them to stay for as long as they want. My hope is that when this room revamp is complete people will want to extend their stay š
I have just a few more finishing touches left to complete the guest room. I really like what I’ve done so far.
Get your reservations in now…it’s booking up quickly LOL.
Love love love this ladies! I feel relaxed already. Thanks for leaving this on my nightstand. See you in a few weeks. Hugs, CoCo
You’ll get to see it i person real soon š
Wow, this is very creative. Look forward to seeing the rest of the room.
Thank you so much JJ!

Hey Lisa – it’s coming together a bit slower than I would like. But, I really like the coastal elements.

Love it. It’s a frugal DIY, elegant, not overdone and definitely coastal.
But the “ahh…” is so perfect. Insta-relaxation. š
We hope our guests feel the same way š
