Hey y’all…I hope your week is going well. I’ve been having fun at what I love best…decorating and DIY! I’ve been so excited and energized working on making over the guest room and it is almost finished! I can’t wait for you to see it.
I did a little update on a table for the left side of the bed. Last week I showed you this side table for the right side of the bed…
I used an oversized table that is already in the bedroom. It may have been a kitchen table from the 1940’s and it’s solid wood. I purchased this table many years ago at an antique fair for $10. Oh, the good ole days š The table is fairly chippy and probably has 20 coats of paint on it.
Unfortunately, I was so excited to get this project underway – I forgot to take Ā “before” picture. This is the best that I could do…
When I bought this great piece of furniture, it was already painted in this pretty aqua color. At the time, this color was perfect for the decor. Now, my taste is different and I wanted a more bold color.
You know I’m a bit obsessed with Napoleonic Blue Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Remember these projects ? Chalk Painted Buffet Makeover and Side Table Makeover with Chalk Paint. Well, I painted this table with two coats of paint followed by a small amount of distressing and a coat of clear wax.
I think I’m suffering from a bit of vacationitis or wanderlust. When I started pulling items together to photograph this blue beauty the staging turned into a travelogue š
I’ve lost count of haw many vintage suitcases and trunks I have. I love to use them as side tables and storage. I like to let me imagination takeover and wonder who owned this luggage. Where did they travel? What adventures did they encounter?
I can be ready to travel at a moments notice…
This table isn’t perfect, but it’s perfect for me and my design style.
So, the guest room makeover update is almost complete. I have a few finishing touches to make and add to the room. I can’t wait to share it with you next week!
XO~Vicki
