Hey y’all…here’s a revisit to one of our most popular posts for painted furniture – a painted side table makeover in Old White chalk paint. You know that furniture makeovers are one of our favorite things to do. We love the power of paint and this very cute table was screaming for a makeover. I got this table last year from an antique dealer friend for a great price. The garden gate doors were off and it looked like it had a few too many coats of paint. I counted five different colors. I decided to start with a very clean slate and paint the side table in Old White by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

Painted Side Table Makeover in Old WhiteI decided to be lazy with this particular piece of furniture. It’s not for a client so I opted to not sand down the drips and paint bubbles. In my opinion, these things add character to the piece. I had a clear vision of what I wanted the colors to be. If you saw the bedroom curtains yesterday in our DIY Curtain Rod post, then you already know the colors I chose 🙂

The hardest part of this project was reattaching the door fronts back onto the hinges. I could not have done it without Jennifer coming to the rescue 🙂 It was definitely a two-girl-job!

Painted Side Table Makeover in Old WhiteI know that this is a terrible picture! I had already loaded paint onto my brush when I realized I hadn’t taken a photo with the doors attached. I wanted y’all to see the different colors. I grabbed my iPhone and took this pic…

I wanted to clean up the interior too. I painted it Napoleonic Blue by Annie Sloan. This too was leftover paint from this project. I absolutely love it! I may not shut the doors ever again 🙂

  3. One of my favorites!! I don’t think I realized the inside was Napoleonic Blue, but I really love the contrast!
