Hey y’all…here’s a revisit to one of our most popular posts for painted furniture – a painted side table makeover in Old White chalk paint. You know that furniture makeovers are one of our favorite things to do. We love the power of paint and this very cute table was screaming for a makeover. I got this table last year from an antique dealer friend for a great price. The garden gate doors were off and it looked like it had a few too many coats of paint. I counted five different colors. I decided to start with a very clean slate and paint the side table in Old White by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
I decided to be lazy with this particular piece of furniture. It’s not for a client so I opted to not sand down the drips and paint bubbles. In my opinion, these things add character to the piece. I had a clear vision of what I wanted the colors to be. If you saw the bedroom curtains yesterday in our DIY Curtain Rod post, then you already know the colors I chose 🙂
The hardest part of this project was reattaching the door fronts back onto the hinges. I could not have done it without Jennifer coming to the rescue 🙂 It was definitely a two-girl-job!
I know that this is a terrible picture! I had already loaded paint onto my brush when I realized I hadn’t taken a photo with the doors attached. I wanted y’all to see the different colors. I grabbed my iPhone and took this pic…
This piece really pops now with the crisp white color. I also reattached the glass doorknobs…aren’t they cute?
I wanted to clean up the interior too. I painted it Napoleonic Blue by Annie Sloan. This too was leftover paint from this project. I absolutely love it! I may not shut the doors ever again 🙂
My heart palpitates for vintage corbels and architectural trim…
Vintage books in just the right hue…
I hope you like this Painted Side Table Makeover in Old White. Next week I will share with you the table for the other side of the bed!
Love how fresh the white makes this piece, the blue on the inside is a great surprise and the glass know is the perfect touch! Hugs, CoCo
The power of paint is amazing. I love the new crisp white on the table. What a difference it makes. I love it.
One of my favorites!! I don’t think I realized the inside was Napoleonic Blue, but I really love the contrast!
