Hey there and Happy Monday! So, by now I’m sure you have completed all of your Christmas shopping, have all of your gifts perfectly wrapped, your baking is done and you have already entertained countless friends in your beautifully decorated home. Yeah…me either!

I’m definitely feeling the panic of the beating clock inside my head. The days are flying by and getting away from me. I was feeling like I needed a game plan to corral some control.  Have you felt that way too? This past week I did manage to complete my decorating, create a menu and recipe plan for the days leading up to Christmas and thank goodness for online shopping!  I finally feel like I have a manageable plan and I am set for holiday success 🙂

Honey Bee and I will be entertaining this week and I wanted to create a pretty tablescape. I gathered some of my favorite things and set to work.

I love these silver platters. Whenever I see them in thrift stores I grab them up. I think the most I’ve ever paid for one is $4.00. I prefer them in their tarnished state – I don’t polish them at all.

Fresh cut greenery and mercury glass trees create a lovely centerpiece.I also love red transferware…I have a big collection. A few pieces were inherited from my grandmother and others have been collected over time. When I set these pieces out I thought that a gray and red table setting would be very pretty and could still be Christmasy.

Now, hear me out – it was brand new and I washed it. The extra-large sized shirt was a total of $6.99 and has at least two yards of fabric. I searched high and low for this color checked pattern at fabric and craft stores with no luck. I always search unexpected places to find bargain fabric.
