Sharing my eclectic living room refresh today!
I am so excited to share my updated and more eclectic living room decor with you today! With baby bee on the way, I have definitely been in a nesting mood and wanting to get as much done in the house as possible. Our living room is a decent size, but we had a little too much furniture in the space in my opinion. There was a large sectional and 2 swivel chairs. Not to mention a large coffee table, as well as the entertainment center. Here is what the space most recently looked like. (PS: sorry for the not so great photos…I was in a hurry to get the pictures before movers came to help move the furniture haha.)
The space isn’t bad at all, but as you can see it was pretty cramped. And while the sectional can fit a lot of people, I was no longer loving the dark color. I’ve also had it for about 10 years, so was a little ready for a change. Also, I love this rug, but it was getting a little worn and I was ready to bring a little more color into the loving room. I was very fortunate that everything I used in the living room refresh were items I already had.
We brought the “new” sofa in from the she shed, which if you haven’t seen the reveal from a few years ago, you can see that here. Then we are keeping the sectional and adding it to the shed instead. The “new” rug for the living room was in the room that will now be the nursery. We have a new rug for that room to fit the decor, which you can see here. And lucky for us, the rug that had been in the room fits perfectly in the updated living room. It was just a few changes, but honestly makes such a difference!
The living room just seems soooo much brighter now! And we have a lot more space. It was honestly a little hard to get used to the first few days. I purchased this large pothos plant back in early March and I have managed to keep it alive haha. It’s one of the easiest house plants to care for, but I’m surprised I haven’t found a way to kill it. I also have an extensive vintage camera collection, which I love on top of the entertainment center.
The industrial rail cart is a piece of furniture I have had for years and it is one of my absolute favorites. If you’re in the Atlanta area, then you probably know about Scott’s Antique Market. Mom and I have certainly found some great things from there and this piece is one of them.
Still incorporating a little bit of my fall decor with this tiered tray I highlighted a couple of weeks ago.
And of course Sadie just can’t help herself! She’s got to be in the middle of the action. She did the same thing last week with my neutral fall mantel decor, but she’s too cute to move.
I wasn’t 100% sure if the rug would work in the space with the curtains and throw pillows, but I personally think it looks so good together. Home decor doesn’t have to be so matchy matchy and it’s fun to play around with what works. I also think the sofa really brightens the space and the color fits in really well. With the extra space it just feels lighter, which makes me feel happier!
I absolutely love your living room make over, Jenn! You are inspiring me to make some changes also! Thanks!
