Today we are sharing our outdoor themed nursery design plan!

We cannot believe that in less than 3 months, baby bee will be arriving! Eek! The time has been flying by and there is still a lot to be done in the nursery. We’ve been gathering some items for our outdoor themed nursery, but there are still several things that need our attention. Trying not to panic too much, as I know it will all get done on time.

We’ve been slightly delayed on doing some of the decorating, as we had a foundation issue in the nursery. Just our luck, right?! We got the foundation issue repaired, but there is a really bad crack in the wall. Finally, this is getting fixed this week! With the pause, it has given me time to really gather my thoughts on how I want the outdoor themed nursery to look.

Inspiration for Outdoor Themed Nursery

Growing up, a lot of my vacations were spent camping and exploring National Parks, so I wanted to incorporate that into the nursery. I found these awesome vintage inspired prints and I cannot wait to get them hung up! Even into my adult life we love to go to the mountains, so I chose prints that were meaningful to us. I didn’t want the outdoors to be too cartoonish, so I am leaning more towards a vintage, rustic look with a little bit of boho thrown in there. For the colors, it will mostly be blues and whites, as well as a few pops here and there of reds and oranges.

Also, I always find the best, affordable rugs from Rugs USA and this blue and white rug is perfect for the space! Both the National Park prints, as well as this rug kind of spearheaded the look we were going for.

Luckily we already had a painted dresser in the room, which will be perfect. It will also serve as the changing table. The rocking chair is actually the one mom had when I was a baby, so it is nice to have this passed down to me. I will likely paint it to fit in more with the decor, but just need to decide on white or gray.

The Fun Stuff!

You can click on the photos below for more details on some of the items.

Things are coming together, which is great, but I am at the point where I want everything done. It will give me some peace of mind. I tend to wake up lately in the middle of the night and run through a list of all that needs to be done. Now is the time to be catching up on sleep before baby arrives haha!

Once the outdoor themed nursery is complete, we will certainly be sharing it with y’all! We also have to work on the nursery closet, which is a hot mess. Drywall is getting installed this week for that as well and then need to figure out the best closet system. It is small and kind of oddly shaped, so another item on the to do list. It’s going to feel so rewarding once this is all complete!
