Our Thrifty Style Team is so excited about our posts this month. We have decided to help y’all out during this virus-time. Each of us has created a special care package. In our neck of the woods, cleaning supplies are still scarce at most stores. We created a Cleaning Survival Kit Giftaway.
Nothing has made us re-think our cleaning routines more than this pandemic and Jenn’s pregnancy. In the early days of coronavirus, cleaning supplies were literally depleted in stores and online. Having dabbled with essential oils and natural cleaners, I felt fairly certain that my household had enough to get by and survive the inventory scarcity.
We like using products that are plant-based and as chemical-free as possible. Not to say that there is a time or two that we use other products. But, we are working on alternatives for those.
One of our favorite products is Thieves Household Cleaner. With simple, plant-based ingredients that leave behind no chemical residue. Thieves Cleaner also has a fabulous warm, spicy aroma. It’s safe for humans and pets alike.

Lemon essential oil can be used in cleaning products too.
Cotton dish towels are an essential kitchen item.
Mrs. Meyer’s dish soap is another fave product. And who doesn’t love the scent of honeysuckle.

My home cleaning solution that I use for everything is mixing vinegar & lemon juice in a spray bottle. I even use the vinegar & lemon juice solution as a hair conditioner. After shampooing, rinse out the shampoo really well and then spray on the vinegar & lemon juice solution & rub it in but do not rinse it out.

I have also been testing out chemical free cleaners. I decided it doesn’t make sense to care so much about what goes in my body if my air is polluted. Working from home has really made me look at my home differently. I enjoy your posts.
What a wonderful package! My husband and I are both seniors and in high risk categories. We are very careful but still have needed two visits by service people and have needed to get some groceries from places without curbside pick up. So this would help us tremendously. Thank you.
I do dishes by hand and I love all things lemon. Right now I have a tray on my table with all things lemon.

I love Mrs. Meyer products. I”ve never had true Thieves oil.. always made my own concoction and used it around in a diffuser. Would love to try the real thing! I think it would be great to use as an essential oil in making homemade candles!

I only use chemical free products. There’s enough chemicals and pesticides out there in the world, don’t want to add more in the house! Always resuse and recycle too!

I love the fragrance of Thieves cleaner. I enter my home and immediately feel it is fresh. In these days of Covid cleaning I like to know my home is sanitized and safe. I have the Thief’s essential oil but haven’t heard of this product. This scent calms nerves and smells so nice. Definitely interested in trying this product. Trying the Norwex laundry soap to cut down on chemicals in our laundry. Always looking for new ideas! Thanks for your post!

I have heard great things about Mrs. Meyer’s plant based products and have been wanting to try Mrs. Meyer’s dish detergent so if I win I would be able to try it and use it when doing my dishes. I love the smell of honey suckle which is such a summertime fragrance and it would be great to wash my dishes using Mrs. Meyers dish detergent.

Oh, my I would love to try these natural products- I am having a terrible time with ants in my kitchen – can’t figure out where they are coming in from and don’t like or want to use chemical sprays. I have heard that ants don’t like citrusy smells so would be great to have some lemon oil to mix up and wipe on the counters. Hopefully, that will drive the little buggers away for good! I have heard so many good things about Thieves cleaner. It’s great that we have options for cleaning our houses these days with products that aren’t full of chemicals.
These products will leave a more fragrant aroma than the cheap bleach based products that are available on the store shelves! The Thieves spicy scent, the lemon, and my favorite childhood scent of honeysuckle! My house would be clean of germs but also refreshed.
I have been meaning to try Thieves oil for cleaning in my home. I have heard such good things about it. I love the amber bottle for cleaning, so much nicer than the plastic spray bottle I use now.
