Decorating with thrifted silver pieces is economical and beautiful.
Welcome to another fabulous month from our Thrifty Style Team designers. Today 2 Bees are showcasing how pretty, easy and inexpensive you will find decorating with thrifted silver.
Gather your Pieces
Our pieces have been collected over time from various thrift stores. Recently this little grouping was created. A tarnished silver water pitcher is a perfect alternative for a flower vase. The gorgeous silver bowl was a $1.00 score. After doing some research we discovered that the bowl is from the early 1800’s.
Thinking we needed just a little something else to add to the vignette, we remembered this sweet silver box. It was half priced, so another score for just .46¢
Now this collection has a more cohesive look.
Springtime tulips look so fresh.
Other Ways to use Thrifted Silver
Mismatched vintage spoon handles created gorgeous napkin rings.
These forks were free, as they were included in a yard sale purchase of a trunk.
They were used to created unique place card holders.
Silver and silverplate pitchers are again, a perfect alternate use for a vase. They are already water-tight and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Silver sugar bowls abound at most thrift stores. Typically they can be purchased for less than $1.00. Our three examples show you just how beautiful and intricate each one is. We especially love the one that looks like a miniature trophy.
We used our vintage sugar bowls to make succulent gardens. Succulents don’t need tons of care. Some of our creations include Coastal Inspired Succulent Garden, DIY Succulent Terrarium and Succulent Planter Ideas.
It is our sincerest hope that you have been inspired in some small way today. Thank you so very much for following along. Don’t forget to visit all of the other designers posts below. You won’t be disappointed.
