How To Make Easy Cheap Artwork with Scrapbook Paper

Hey y’all…I’m so glad you are here today, because I am very excited to share this project with you! Yesterday I made my way to my local craft store. Admittedly this isn’t unusual for me. But the difference yesterday was that I didn’t go with a shopping list. I walked through the store aisle by aisle looking for inspiration.

Imagine my surprise when I reached the scrapbook paper aisle and discovered these beauties…

IMG_4294Scrapbook paper has changed a lot in the past few years or at least since I last checked LOL.

IMG_4299I immediately thought of placing these pages in frames for artwork. The pages I am showing you today are going to be used in my guest bathroom.

IMG_4300Other pages I will use at a later date, but trust me they are gorgeous!

IMG_4305This artwork is easy and cheap to create. Each 12×12 page is only .59 cents and they happened to be 50% off yesterday.

IMG_4334The barn wood frames I used were thrifted several months ago for $1 each. I purchased all 10 of them and have used them in various projects. The frames are 8×10 so the scrapbook paper needed to be cut down to size.

IMG_4313_2I traced out out the correct size with chalk and cut around my mark.

IMG_4315I love how they turned out!

IMG_4370_2I found this bicycle art in the clearance section of HomeGoods. It hangs in the guest bedroom next to the window.

IMG_4339_2I was so excited that this scrapbook page practically replicates the bedroom artwork…

So, each framed piece cost me a grand total of $1.30 each! Pretty great, right? If you are in need of inspiration I highly recommend a visit to the craft store. No list, no agenda…just wander and meander down the aisles. I promise, you will be surprised at what you discover.

Until tomorrow,

OH my gosh, I love that paper! I was at MIchael’s yesterday, but I didn’t even walk down the scrapbook paper aisle, and now I wish I had! I’m working on a gallery wall for our powder room and these would be perfect. Back to the store I go! :)
