Hey there friends. I wanted to share with you a cute gift that I made for Jennifer. I decorated a store bought birdhouse for her living room and I loved the way it turned out. Remember a couple of weeks ago I shared how to make book page flowers? You can see that tutorial here. I used the leftover papers for this project. I decided to make Jenn this gift as the colors coordinate with her living room 🙂 Yes, I am a good mom LOL!
The birdhouse is very lightweight – I think it is made of balsa wood. I love Mod Podge as it dries quickly and clear. I used the matte finish – it gives the piece a finished look and hardens the paper without a glossy finish. This is strictly a decorative birdhouse and not meant to be kept outdoors 🙂
Being that the birdhouse has different angles, I just did my best to lay the house down in all directions and traced out the shapes as best as I could.
I think it turned out great and I hope Jennifer likes this…and knows what a wonderful mother she has 🙂
