We are grateful to you all! Here’sĀ how we did withĀ weight loss update 1…

Vicki

Beginning Weight: Ā 249.5

Current Weight: Ā  Ā  Ā  235.5

Weight loss goal for September: Ā 8 pounds

Woo Hoo! I am down 14 pounds this month! So happy to have surpassed my goal of 8 pounds! Being totally honest, I had to take a lot of deep breaths to be able to share these numbers with y’all. The numbers feel large and uncomfortable – just like me. It’s embarrassing too. Most people, my husband included, have no idea what my real weight is. I have done a marvelous job of hiding and camouflaging my weight. Jenn convinced me that sharing our numbers holds us accountable to ourselves and each other. Gulp!

What worked for me:Ā

  • Moving more. Randomly dancing to loud music. Exercising to Netflix walking videos. Yoga and walking.
  • Eating Breakfast. As I shared last month, I quit eating breakfast in high school. This month I had breakfast daily. For now it is a liquid protein drink.
  • Eating healthy food.Ā I try to eat as organically as possible. I make delicious, flavorful food.
  • Being organized and having a food plan.Ā I make a thoughtful menu and food plan for the week.

Jennifer

Beginning Weight: 200.8

Current Weight: 195.4

Weight loss goal for September: 8 pounds

So I’m down 5.4 pounds this month, which is great, but not quite where I was hoping to be.Ā  I had been doing well with eating the right foods, drinking water, and walking most days of the week. But then I was gearing up for my trip to Ireland and went a little off the bandwagon. And traveling certainly doesn’t help, but was happy to see that I honestly didn’t gain much weight from my trip.Ā  And I was also so proud of myself for only having one Coke this entire month.Ā  There were several days when I really, really wanted one, but I just stuck to water and felt better for doing so.

What worked for me:

  • Drinking water. Before we started this journey, I was drinking at least two Cokes a day and no water at all.
  • Eating Clean Foods. I unfortunately didn’t do this 100% of the time, but I tried eating clean, non-processed foods. I was great at this for about two weeks, and my goal is to do this even more so this next month.
  • Walking. Our neighborhood is great for walking and I made it a point to do this more often. Some mornings I would wake up at 5:30am to go for a walk and on the weekends I definitely took advantage of the free time I had. I also did quite a bit of walking on my trip to Ireland, which I definitely think helped reduce the amount of weight I gained.

We really want y’all on this journey with us. Please share how well you have done this month. We want to celebrate with you and encourage you too. Ā We would also love to hear any tips or advice that you have for us. Feel free to share recipes, ideas, struggles and victories.

XO~Vicki and Jenn

  1. That’s awesome ladies! So proud of you two. I’ve struggled with the same stupid 15 pounds for a few years now. I’ve just never fully committed to doing what I need to do to get it off. I’m a creature of (bad) habits like Starbuck’s lattes instead of meals. Like you Jenn, I rarely drank water and my body showed it. I’ve recently gone off of all coffee and am trying to drink only water. We’ll see what changes this brings. Thank you both for sharing this journey with us. I know it isn’t easy to be as open about weight issues. (Vicki, my hubby doesn’t know what I weigh either…well no one but my doctor does actually!) I’m cheering you both on and I’m being inspired and motivated by you two!! Much love and best wishes as you continue!!

  2. Super proud of your success this month! Girls, your honesty and dedication are an inspiration!
    xoxo Bambi

  3. I’m giving you both a standing ovation. I’m super proud of your accomplishments so far but even more proud at your fearlessness sharing your personal numbers so publicly. You girls are rock stars!
I’m also trying to lose weight. I eat pretty clean but recently started tracking my food in My Fitness Pal. It helped me realize that even though the foods I eat are pretty healthy, my calorie count was a bit too high which was hindering my weight loss. I have a habit of grabbing a handful of nuts in the afternoon when I’m hungry and it was throwing my calories off enough that my weight wasn’t budging. I also had to retrain myself to eat breakfast and found a protein shake works for me too. I hope I’ll have a weight loss accomplishment to share with you next month too. Thank you for the inspiration to keep going!

  4. Words cannot express how very proud I am of you both.

  5. Did you just hear that? Oh yeah, I know you did! That loud boom was the sound of a high five and a woot woot from your fans. We are SO proud of you guys! Super awesome and I know how hard you’ve both worked to get to this point. I’ve lost 4.8 pounds and I’m stoked about it. I definitely need to work on walking a bit more when my schedule is crazy. I’ve done really well with my water intake this month. It helped to have infused water in the fridge to entice me to keep drinking water all day long. Hugs, CoCo

  6. This is awesome girls. You got this. I have struggled with my weight for a long time and I am finally right there with you losing. Thanks for all the inspiration. Safety in numbers!!!!
Have a wonderful week. Woooo Hoooo Congrats!

  8. So excited to read your update today! You are both rock stars in my book. Well done ladies! The next bottle of water’s on me!

  9. Wow you girls are amazing and bravo to share those numbers and what great losses you’ve had. Vicki I’m right there with you (with the numbers lol) and wish I had lost that much but I’ve lost 4 lbs and ate a lot healthier during the week and need to still continue to work on more exercise. Jenn its fantastic that you traveled and still lost where most gain on a trip. Bravo and big cheers and hugs to you. xo Lisa

  10. Wow, congrats ladies!! You should be very proud of yourselves. I haven’t done very well, but am hoping that my new “work schedule” will help a lot.

  11. Hey sweet ladies! I’m happy for your losses. Vicki you’re pretty much a rock star. Keep walking. and walking. and walking. I like the idea of random dancing. I think I will try that myself. Jenn it is so difficult to travel and lose weight. I’m patting you on the back for the loss that you had. Remember at any moment in time if someone offered you an 8 pound weight loss you would take it!

  12. Inspired! To break my little up and down 2 pound loss over a couple of weeks. Proud of you!! Linda

  13. mary scott says:

Congrats, ladies. Well done!! I admire you both so much for allowing this look into a really personal journey. I consider any month where I don’t gain any pounds to be a triumph! I am a lifetime member of WW from 30 years ago. I’m at least 100 lbs over that target weight back then. Keep moving!

  14. Fantastic update ladies!! So many good new changes that will become habits with time. And such commitment to share your journey here. So many inspirations shared in the comments! That’s powerful!! Thanks for inviting us all along. šŸ™‚ Bwg ~~~
