Pages of a tattered book get reimagined as Vintage Santa Book Page Ornaments.

Hello friends! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is in three days?! I know that a lot of you decorate your tree and homes Thanksgiving weekend. I wanted to share my Vintage Santa Book Page Ornaments so that you can make some for yourself.

Inspiration is everywhere

Inspiration comes to me in a variety of ways and these ornaments are proof of this. I am hosting my neighborhood book club Christmas party, therefore I wanted to create some fun and unique decor. What better way than creating decor with book pages?

As I always feel the need to state:

You can’t judge a book by its cover

  • these are not precious or valuable books
  • this particular book was free as the cover was torn off and several pages were already missing
  • I’ve kept the book from going into a dumpster or landfill
  • the pages are given new life as ornaments and decor

It is no secret that I love book page projects as well as decoupage crafts. They are quick, easy and offer limitless possibilities.

I also love collecting vintage Santa’s.

This whimsical, vintage graphic is perfect for these ornaments. Just click the above image or this link for the FREE VINTAGE SANTA DOWNLOAD.

Gus thought that this was a fun project too!

Graphics Fairy has tons of vintage images

If you are looking for any vintage art images, look no further than Graphics Fairy! Her site has so much to offer. Last year I bought white and clear glass ornaments after Christmas as they were 90% off!

Bargain shop

I made two different sizes, 2 5/8″ and 4″. By the way, head to Hobby Lobby right now. A box of 12 count, 2 5/8″ ornaments is only $3.60 right now. The 4″ are 4 to a box for $3.60. Think about that for a second…the small ornaments are .30 cents each and the larger ones are just .90 cents each.

I looped each ornament with 3/8″ red velvet ribbon.

Presentation

These ornaments look beautiful displayed in my antique dough bowl with added greenery.

Book club is the first Tuesday of December, so these ornaments will make their way into the dining room and kitchen decor.

I’ll be sharing other book page decor soon!
