Blue and Gold Christmas Tree decor ideas.

Every year I like to switch up my Christmas decor – especially my trees. This year I created a Blue and Gold Christmas Tree. It turned out so pretty – come and take a look!

Experiment with colors and themes

In year’s past I have used many themes and color schemes for my Christmas trees. You can see those trees HERE. I find it to be so much fun to mix and match colors – blue and green, red and white, blue and silver, red and green. Or, like this year with blue and gold. My living room is primarily blue and white so these colors compliment it well.

Last week I shared my Silver and Gold Christmas mantel. This set the tone for the Christmas tree. As you can see, the tree is right next to the fireplace, so the mantel and tree need to compliment each other.

Use what you already have

When you look inside your Christmas bins, you can probably already gather an idea for colors or a particular theme.

Make Ornaments

Making ornaments is my favorite way to get the Christmas look that I want. Yesterday, I shared my vintage Santa book page ornaments. In years past I have made lots of ornaments, like these decoupaged oyster shells. If you need some inspiration, look HERE for lots of ideas.

Never forget to make your tree sparkle LOL. This little glitter ornament was from the Dollar Tree several years ago. It makes for a great focal point on the tree.

I like to add sentimental ornaments as well. The Eiffel Tower and Big Ben ornaments are a reminder of a once-in-a-lifetime trip for our family.

This sweet cream colored tree was made by a friend and gifted to me.

Mercury glass isn’t gold, but the glass definitely reflects the gold light.

I hope that you have been inspired today for decorating your own tree. Tomorrow I will be sharing my rustic tree decor.
