These adorable Scottie dog Christmas ornaments were dreamed up while walking the aisles of the Dollar Tree. Come and see how easy they are to create.

You know how much I love to make my own Christmas decor. Each year I try to create ornaments, wreaths, centerpieces and more. Recently, I was walking the craft aisle of a Dollar Tree store. I spotted some MDF dog forms that I just knew would be perfect transformed into an ornament. This is how to make Scottie dog Christmas ornaments – Dollar Tree project!

Materials needed:

  • Scottie dog forms from the Dollar Tree
  • Ribbon from the Dollar Tree
  • ModPodge from the Dollar Tree
  • Coordinating craft paint
  • Wrapping paper or scrapbook paper
  • Pencil Scissors
  • Hot glue

This isn’t a great photo, but I wanted to show you how I easily hot-glued the ribbon to the backside of the ornament.

Cuteness Overload

Is this adorable or what? Within 30 minutes I was able to make eight ornaments. This includes the drying time for the painted trim. Initially, I just wanted to nestle the cute Scottie dogs onto the Christmas tree branches. This proved to be impractical as I was adding other ornaments to the tree.

Adding a ribbon loop as a hanger was a much better idea. By the way – this adorable ribbon is from the Dollar Tree too.

My wrapping paper choices are bright red with white holly berries and red and white plaid. This is giving you a sneak peek to my decor this year.

I hope that you love my Scottie dog Christmas ornaments as much as I do. Run, don’t walk, to your closest Dollar Tree store!
