Hey y’all! The house is starting to come together, granted it’s happening a little more slowly than I would like, but that could also be because I am the queen of procrastination. Nonetheless, more and more projects are getting complete, which makes me happy 🙂 I’ve had this end table for several years and for about the past 2 years I have toyed around with the idea of painting it, but I was never 100% sure that’s what I wanted to do. Or what color I wanted to paint it with.
During the move the top got a bit scratched up and I took it as a sign that it was time to paint this great piece of furniture. Around the same time, I was looking at the gorgeous painted furniture from Farmhouse Blues and saw this piece she painted in ASCP Aubusson Blue…it was love at first sight! I knew that this end table would be perfect in Aubusson Blue.
I didn’t have to prime it and it only needed 2 coats of paint. To be honest, I barely sanded down the marks on the top and you can’t even see them after I painted it. I typically like to add a little bit of water to make them thinner coats. I am so happy with how this end table turned out and am wondering why I didn’t paint it sooner! It’s a small enough piece where it adds a pop of color, but isn’t overpowering.
Don’t you just love the color? I typically like to play it safe with my furniture colors and stick with grays and whites, but I am so happy I took the plunge and think it looks gorgeous if I do say so myself.
Until tomorrow,
XO – Jenn

I absolutely love the color… and the little tiny bee hive on the shelf! That is adorable! I have a couple end tables that I have been wanting to paint… but avoiding the plunge. I don’t know hwy everything else in my house is painted! I think because they were my mom’s when I was little it’s hard to change them! Either way I love your table and your story might have pushed me over the edge to painting my own. Thanks for linking up with us at Welcome Home Wednesdays… can’t wait to see you next week!
