Can I just share with you that my living room is one of my favorite rooms in my home?Ā I think it is because at the moment, it is the room that is the most decoratively complete and the most “me”. Ā This room has color, personality and definitely decorated on a budget with pieces collected over time. I define my style as Vintage Traditional. I love mixing antiques, collectibles, found items and pieces with special meaning into my decor.
So…come on in and let me show you around.
I kept all of the furniture pieces neutral and added pops of color with accent pieces, pillows and curtains.
Speaking of furniture, this antique sofa was free! Can you believe it? I have a friend that owns an upholstery business. This sofa was given to her in multiple pieces and she was going to throw it away – I know…don’t even get me started š So I offered to put it back together with a little bit of assistance from her husband. I purchased very inexpensive fabric and my friend upholstered the sofa for me. I can’t express how excited I was to get this antique beauty in my home!
The sofa legs are hand-carved swans.
The mirror above the sofa is another hand-carved piece that I purchased at a yard sale for $50!
Like a lot of you, I make the rounds at TJ Maxx and HomeGoods – in fact I call it the pilgrimage, as I visit my local stores. I typically make a beeline for the home section and visit the clearance shelves first. You would be surprised at the deals I’ve found on those wonderful aisles. On one particular visit I found these three decorative wooden mirrors for $5 a piece. They are the perfect addition for this odd wall behind the chair.
Luckily for me, and not too far from my home is a hotel furniture liquidation center. The coffee table is super heavy and needs two people to move it. The table is quality made and cost me a grand total of $30!
IĀ was so excited to find this painting at a local thrift shop. I was ecstatic when I discovered it was only $9 and that it matched my living room perfectly!
The antique harp table is actually a game table. The top of the table spins and can be opened up as a larger, square table. This piece has been moved all over the house – I love how universal it is.
Y’all know that I’m obsessed with moss balls š This one is placed in an antique silver sugar bowl.
The hydrangeas were cut from the yard…aren’t Summertime flowers the best?
This bisque lamp is another clearance purchase from HomeGoods…
I separated all of the green glass from my beach glass collection and placed it in an apothecary jar.
Y’all have seen my painted wing chair before…yes, the fabric is painted š You can read that post HERE.
I love this antique teacup especially since it was a gift from my mother. The vintage linen is also a gift from my sweet friend CoCo.
Do you remember when I showed you how I transformed this carved wooden box?
The brass pieces are vintage memo holders.
The curtains are some of my all-time-fabric favorites. I originally made them for Jennifer’s home when she lived in North Carolina. Not long ago I reclaimed them from her to add into my living room.
The antique mahogany table has made the rounds, so to speak. When I lived in North Carolina I purchased the table from a friend at a yard sale. A couple of years later I sold it to another friend and then bought it back from herĀ a few years later. I was thrilled to get it back…sorry Ladies š
The pottery piece on the bottom shelf is handmade and a gift from my dear, young friend Lauren. I was amazed that it matched the curtains perfectly.
This living room is my favoriteĀ room because every piece in it has special meaning to me. I remember where I purchased each piece, who I was shopping with or who gifted me an item used in the room. Ā I love drinking my morning coffee on my painted wing chair while talking on the phone with my friends. This room is like a favoriteĀ pair of jeans – well worn, comfortable, cozy and loved.
I hope you liked the tour š We’ll see you back here tomorrow!
Beautiful!! Such a great space with so many special touches. The navy and green are two of my favorite colors. Thanks for sharing the stories to your pieces…that’s my kind of home tour š Hugs!

Vicki and Jennifer,
Your living room is beautiful! I can’t believe someone would throw out such a beautiful couch! We have a hotel furtive liquidator not far from us too, I am ashamed to say I’ve never been there. Honestly I just figured it would be a ton of garbage furniture, but I love your coffee table. I will definitely be giving them a try now! Thanks for sharing girls!
