Because I loved the Christmas tree in the master bedroom, I added one to the guest bedroom too. Here’s my lake cottage Christmas bedroom tour and thrifty style tips.

There’s just something about the soothing twinkling glow of the Christmas lights in the bedroom at night. If you happened to see my All is Calm master bedroom tour, it was the first time that I ever put a tree in my room and I love it. Because I loved it so much I added this Lake Cottage Christmas Tree to the guest bedroom. Then, that was so cute I decorated the whole room. But I had to get creative because I didn’t really have any decorations. Here’s my lake cottage Christmas bedroom tour and thrifty style tips.

Above the bed hangs this “No Wake Zone” sign made from a wire spool given to me by a friend.

Thrifty Tip #1

I cut buffalo check wrapping paper into squares. Next I added stickers that spell out “Believe” and hung them with miniature clothes pins. This is a free project yet it infuses the spirit of the season and the decor of the room.

Thrifty tip #2

Borrow a cute, colorful pillow from another room.

Thrifty tip #3

Free printables like this adorable one from On Sutton PlaceSo cute and it’s instant, free artwork!

Thrifty Tip #4

Don’t throw away a broken tree. This tree was a hot mess. It was an outdoor tree and the urn that it was in froze and broke. Then the interior base of the tree broke. I just pushed the tree down inside this vintage minnow bucket as part of the theme of the room. It could have easily been added to a basket, a piece of pottery or other container.

Thrifty Tip #5

Use gifts from other people. These beautiful ornaments were made for me. Aren’t I lucky?

Thrifty Tip #6

Throw caution to the wind and decorate with what you have and what you like best! This vintage toy tractor is part of my collection. I pulled it out of a box and brought it into the guest bedroom and added a mini tree to the back. Isn’t it cute?

I hope you enjoyed my lake cottage Christmas bedroom tour and thrifty tips.
