This is a rewind-post from last year. We love to entertain and get our girlfriends together. A great way to combine both was a wine tasting party! Cheers!
This weekend Jennifer and I hosted an in-home wine tasting party. We had so much fun!
The wine tasting is kind of like a modern day tupperware party. We had a consultant, Wanda. Bottles of wine were delivered to my home. Guests were invited . We decided to put our own spin on our decor to add a bit of our own flair and to make our party more festive. We pulled together our discounted and sale craft items to see what we could create. The mini wooden spools reminded us of wine barrels.
Manila tags were dipped in coffee grounds and hot water for an aged look.
Each wine stem was then decorated and guests names were added to the manila tags. Cute, right? This way each guest could keep track of their wine glass.
The muslin triangles, large stickers, twine and mini clothespins were used to make a banner.
Wine Time indeed š This was such a quick project as we used stickers instead of painting with stencils.
I did some chalkboard art to commemorate the party. Ā Here’s a tip… I was in a pinch – this “chalkboard” is actually black poster board. No one could tell the difference š
We kicked off the tasting with Rose Sparkling Wine – light and delicious.
I used slate as chocolate boards… This particular slate was just purchased at Goodwill for 50 cents – and it’s from Crate and Barrel! I used a chalk pen for writing.
Assorted cheese tray for wine pairings…
These burlap wine gift bags were on clearance at TJ Maxx for $1 each…
Mid tasting…
The best part of the day was spending time with friends…
We learned a lot about different wines and tasted a great variety of vino. The absolute best part of the day was laughter!
Who wouldn’t love an afternoon filled with wine and good friends? I know that we did š
You girls know how to party! I love the wine tags that you made and the slate board you found at Goodwill. You need to take me shopping. That was a steal! Can’t wait to have a similar MABELs party at the lake š
That looks like so much fun! I can’t believe the deals you found…the slate piece (jealous!) and the $1 burlap bags! You glass tags were great too!! Love it all š
Vicki and Jennifer, wow what a fun party. That looks like such a great time! I love the wine tags you made and the tea dying tags and that slate….FABULOUS. what a fun party and loved seeing all the pictures. xo Lisa

Thanks so much for the tips! The wine tags are lovely! Greetings, Storage Muswell Hill Ltd.
Looks like such a fun party! Great tips too. I have a couple of those slate serving trays from Crate & Barrel if you need to borrow ~ as I won’t be donating them at the thrift store anytime soon š Bwg ~~~
