Hey y’all…how are you holding up during the hustle and bustle of the season? I know this time of year gets so busy and it is sometimes hard to get a moment to yourself. A piece of advice my mother gave me a long time ago was to “Take care of yourself first…the rest will fall into place”. Ā I take this sage advice to mean – slow down and enjoy the moment and don’t stress out too much.

This season I have really concentrated on being in the moment. I have made lots of plans to be with family and friends and to make this year extra special.

My house is fully decorated in Christmas splendor and I am now able to relax a bit and enjoy my hard work. It’s so nice to enjoy the twinkling glimmer of Christmas lights by a cozy fire.

Honey Bee and I have been invited to several parties and open houses. I never like to show up emptied handed anywhere – especially to a party. A couple of weeks ago I sharedĀ Cozy Pillows Made with Thrifted Sweaters. Ā Well, at the same time I came up with another use of the leftover sweater remnants. I crafted DIY Sweater Wine Bags.

These cozy wine bags were made with the sweater sleeves. All IĀ had to do is sew one end closed.

The wrist opening of the sleeve became a turtleneck of sorts that I turned down one time.

I embellished each wine bag with items I had on hand…jingles bells, gift tags, baker’s twine and greenery.

Now we are all set for party time!

You could even make bags embellished for the New Year…maybe with sparklers or noise makers.

We can’t wait to celebrate with our friends!

I’m excited that for once, I made something ahead of time and now we are ready to attend our parties and open houses. I hope our hosts like their gift! What do you like to take as a hostess gift?

Cheers to a wonderful day and a beautiful holiday season!
