Hey y’all…I realize that depending on what time of day you are reading this – it might just be too early for Happy Hour. But this gives you the opportunity to gather these ingredients for our new Summertime favorite…Georgia Peach Cocktail! First – this has been the best year for fresh peaches in a very long time. I haven’t had a bad peach yet – they are ripe, sweet and juicy. Like dripping down your chin juicy. I hate that it is such a short season. I plan on freezing a lot of them to enjoy in later months. Secondly – I was introduced to a new vodka – Fruitland Augusta Georgia Peach Vodka. Oh.My.Word. This vodka is delicious. I especially like it because it is made in Augusta, Georgia and it is made with real Georgia peaches!
It is currently only sold in our state, but you can use the peach infused vodka of your choice.
Isn’t this bottle pretty?
I decided to create my own version of a peach cocktail. I definitely wanted to highlight and enhance the flavor with our fresh, sweet peaches.
I created a puree by peeling 4 large peaches and removing the center pit. I blended them in a blender until they were smooth and creamy. The puree was sweet enough that there was no need for sugar or simple syrup. If your peaches are too tart you may consider adding sweetener.
I cannot express enough how absolutely delicious this is. I can’t think of a better way to beat the heat this Summer. This special bev is refreshingly sweet with just a tinge of tart.
Ingredients
- 1 ounce peach infused vodka - we used Fruitland Peach Vodka
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur - we used Cointreau
- 2 ounces fresh peach puree
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1/2 cup of crushed ice
Instructions
Fresh Peach Puree - peel and slice 4 fresh, sweet peaches. Puree in a blender until smooth and creamy. If you have any leftover peach puree freeze in ice trays for later use.
Add all of the above ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously about 8 times. Pour in a cocktail glass and enjoy!
**These ingredients are used for each cocktail**
https://2beesinapod.com/georgia-peach-cocktail/I made these for our 4th of July gathering and they were a BIG hit! By big, I mean even the men-folk drank them! Don’t tell them I told y’all that! LOL. They are perfect for impromptu happy hours with friends.
Let me just be perfectly honest – at this stage of my life I will declare that they are perfect to serve on any day that ends in “Y”. After 5:00 PM of course.
Perfect peaches…
I certainly hope that you are inspired to create our Georgia Peach Cocktail…you won’t be sorry!
This weekend I will be visiting Jenn. You will find us on the front porch swing, sipping our new creation!
