Hey y’all…before I show you my new gallery wall, I feel that I have to explain my decor choices for this house. Let’s recap…Honey Bee and I purchased this townhome 9½ years ago at Lake Oconee, Georgia. We hurriedly decorated with what little we had at the time and filled in with items purchased locally from the limited options of stores. And the house kept the same look all of this time. Being that we were only able to come to this house sporadically and for a few days at a time, decor was put on the back-burner and fun was in the forefront. So, now that we are temporarily living here full time it has been necessary to update the entire house. I approached the new design of the house as if I were a visitor renting a lake cottage vacation home. The color scheme would be fresh – bright whites, blues and pale grays. It would be casual and comfortable. You may have seen part of the house with my Summer Lake House Tour. The hardest part of the design was creating a gallery wall around a television. Honestly…The television was installed off-center because of how the house was wired. I also had the added challenge of a fireplace being installed in the corner of the same wall. This is what I came up with…

I was fortunate that my birthday and Mother’s Day coincided with our move. I was gifted a few of the items on the gallery wall.

I used a lot of different hues of blue. The colors remind me of the lake.

As you know, I love decorating with vintage family photos. The Tissue Paper Canvases are some of my favorite DIY art.

I can’t thank QBHome enough for her creative sign House + Love = Home. She is so talented and I get a lot of compliments on this piece.

When my bestie Bambi came to visit a couple of weeks ago, she brought this gorgeous fish to me. Aren’t I lucky?

Jenn surprised me with this great Lake sign for Mother’s Day. Yes, I am blessed…or spoiled depending on how you look at it LOL.

I am so happy to be able to use this cobalt blue Shawnee pottery ball pitcher. I purchased it at a yard sale years ago for a quarter! That’s right – .25 cents. These type of finds are rare, but when they happen – I never forget the moment.

Decorating around a large television on the wall is difficult. I decided to add the art pieces around the TV to make the television disappear. The TV doesn’t stand out on it’s own anymore – it seems less important and less of a focus.

I feel like this gallery wall is the final finishing touch for the living room. I am currently working on putting together a complete tour of the room to share with you soon. In the meantime, there are plenty of other projects that need my attention. You know I love to keep busy 🙂

Until tomorrow…

  2. Great job with this gallery wall. I had to do that in a few of our homes and I can tell you it wasn’t the easiest in the world but once you get it… And you definitely “got it”!

  3. So many great pieces, Vicki! It all looks fresh, clean, retreat like and totally you. Love love love!

Looks great!! The TV almost disappears amidst the gallery. Usually the TV on the wall is the elephant in the room, but you managed to blend it in to the decor seamlessly. Beautiful, as always:) Bambi
