During the week, I work way too many hours at my day job. I always look forward to the weekends and downtime spent with family and friends.
I like to have a special bev or cocktail especially when we are unwinding at home. I was getting tired of the same ole glass of wine or beer and I wanted to create something new. I just did some experimenting in the kitchen and created this special bev that I think is the perfect refreshing summer cocktail. I love being able to incorporate the basil from my garden, as well as Georgia peaches! It’s also a healthier cocktail option since I use club soda instead of tonic (at least that’s what I tell myself, haha).
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Vodka
- 1 oz. Cointreau
- 4 oz. Club Soda
- 1 Peach
- 12 Basil Leaves
Instructions
You'll want to cut the peach into slices and then muddle with basil. Then add the vodka, cointreau, and club soda and stir. I would let this sit for at least 10 minutes before serving for the flavors to fuse together. Garnish with basil.
I used white peaches, but you can use any kind.
https://2beesinapod.com/basil-peach-cocktailperfect-summer/I don’t have a muddler, but I just used the back of a wood spoon and it worked just fine 🙂
I love this pitcher we found on our last vacation trip to St. Augustine. There is a great store in Old Town called Market to Market we always go to. All of the pieces are handmade and hand painted, which we love!
This really is such a light and refreshing drink for the summer and has become more of a go to drink in our household. It’s nice to change things up a bit 🙂 We hope you try this cocktail now that the weather has heated up! Cheers Y’all!
As always your drinks look so refreshing I can’t wait to try them. This weekend sounds like a great time to start 🙂 Hugs, CoCo
Yes CoCo…this weekend is a good time!
Jenn, this drink looks so refreshing! I’m jealous that you ladies have access to all those amazing Georgia peaches. I’m heading to the grocery and liquor stores today for the supplies! Thanks for sharing! (Beautiful photos too!!)
