Hey y’all…Of all of the things I decorate, my dining room shelves are one of my favorites to style. I typically change things around 6 to 8 times per year and when appropriate I add seasonal elements.

The first thing I do is remove everything from the shelves to start with a fresh slate. Most items make their way back to the alcove but in a different place.

You may remember that I opted to get rid of the top portion of my formal china cabinet in lieu of adding these shelves. I feel it is one of the best design decisions I ever made. It allows me to be more creative with displays and I can see everything rather than it being stowed away inside a cabinet.

Do you remember when I showed you how the dining room shelves looked this summer?

Summer Dining Room Refresh - moved things around and added a bit of color

Well, this is how the dining room shelves look for Fall…

A bit of a warmer pallette – I added soup tureens, dark metals, fall foliage…

…and this super cute owl platter.

Adorable, right? He was on clearance at HomeGoods and I couldn’t pass him up.

I added a lot more white porcelain by way of the cake plate, dishes and tureens.

The baskets with French script numbers are a staple in this room. They also hide and store lots of cloth dinner napkins.

I continued the cork theme that I started with my Fall Coffee Table and Fall Tablescape Wine Dinner.

Berries, pumpkins and colorful leaves signify Fall…

Does anyone know what this mold was used for? Or, is it even a mold?

This oversized acorn is a new addition this year too.

At the first signs of Fall I start making soup. These tureens get used often.

We use our dining room often, especially at this time of year. I’m always impressed when our dinner guests can note the subtle changes that I make.

The shelves will stay this way throughout the season. I may change a few things in preparation of Thanksgiving…I’m thinking copper. Stay tuned!

Until tomorrow…
