Hey y’all…not to send you into a full-blown panic or anything but in exactly one week it will be Christmas Eve! I know…didn’t it come up fast? I’m sure I say that every year, but this year I really mean it LOL.
I haven’t even shown you all of my Christmas decor yet! I’m still tweaking some areas of the house…like my dining room. I know I showed you part of it and you can see that here –Ā Christmas Home Tour. I’m constantly moving my home decor around and the same is true with my Christmas decorations. I’ve been “done” for awhile now but I just can’t leave well enough alone. Do you do that?
Anyway…I tweaked the dining room decor and I love how it came out. I’m getting ready for family and friends to visit Christmas Eve. I typically host a semi-formal dinner party every year on Christmas Eve. I like to make a nice dinner where we get to be real adults, eating by candlelight and listening to soft Christmas music.
I like to be prepared, so I went ahead and got the dining room looking just the way I want it. I made this centerpiece and I think I am in love…
I used my vintage wooden cutlery tray and simply added greenery from the yard, gold ornaments and this magnificent deer. The deer – and the companion in the background – was a gift from my brother Gary and his family several years ago.
I strung up unused ornaments of gold and green onto red grosgrain ribbon and tied them up onto the chandelier.
I changed around the buffet too. I added the standing buck along with a boxwood topiary. I put a vintage Danish bulb crate to use by housing this cute Santa.
Remember…Santa’s my boyfriend!
I made only a couple of additions to the dining room shelves…
I’ve had this “Baking Santa” for more years than I care to count LOL and I love to display him. I think I just love how bright he is.
I made gingerbread cookies that I cut into various shapes. Instead of icing the cookies I just added baker’s twine for some festive color.
My sister-in-law is a wonderful artist and one year she made me this fantastic Santa. She used colored pencils and she also made the weathered frame from vintage wood remnants.
Next to the buffet I added this faux vintage ladder along with a reindeer feedsack and handmade Santa.
I think I’m finally done with tweaking the dining room and I look forward to our Christmas Eve dinner…in one week! What are you up to?
Until tomorrow…
XO~Vicki

This dining room is STUNNING! I love the deer centerpiece you’ve made. It’s so gorgeous. The Santana in the Dutch tulip crate is too cute. Everything is really beautiful. I know your dinner guests are going to be excited. See you at 8!
Love the changes you’ve made! I especially love the deer nesting in the tray of greenery…so earthy and festive. Christmas Eve dinner will be joyful and wonderful, for sure, in such a setting.
