Welcome to the Christmas Edition of Thrifty Style Team. We can’t wait to share our easy DIY Personalized Christmas Ornaments.
Most of us have seen beautiful ornaments with words and phrases on them. Sadly, we don’t own a fancy sticker and label machine like a Cricut or a Silhouette. I am happy to report that I figured out a way to make my own. The best part? You can make 12 ornaments for just a little more than $7.00! That’s like .60¢ per ornament! Here’s how I made these easy DIY personalized Christmas Ornaments.
Thrifty and fabulous
Jenn and I are the first ones to say, thrifty style is beautiful. Thrift means getting the look for less by being a smart shopper. I was so excited when our team leader Julie, of Redhead Can Decorate, declared this month’s theme to be all things Christmas.
Admittedly, I made all of my Christmas ornaments back in July. There was a Christmas in July sale at the craft store, so I snagged all of my supplies then. For this post all items were purchased at my local Hobby Lobby. I ran in last week to check – and all of the prices are what I paid with a 50% on all holiday decor.
This bucket of 12 white glass ornaments cost $4.50 after the discount.
Christmas Magic
A large packet of stickers was $1.25, after discount.
Make sure that the stickers you purchase are printed on clear vinyl.
Also discounted were these pine stems. I only used one stem for all 12 ornaments. The red berries are from my craft stash.
How to make easy DIY Personalized Christmas Ornaments:
- Clean the glass ornament, using a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol.
- Peel off one sticker from the sheet.
- Carefully center on the side of an ornament, press into place.
- Rub out any bubbles
- Cut pine stem into 24 odd-sized pieces.
- Hot glue 2 of the pine stem pieces (different sizes) near the ornament hanger rim.
- Hot glue 2 red berries.
- Add ribbon of your choice to be used as the hanger.
Embellishment is optional – you can leave them as is.
For a more festive ornament, add pine stem greenery and red berries.
I threaded black and white checked ribbon through the ornament hanger.
This makes for easier hanging on the tree.
Aren’t they beautiful?
