Early Fall Tablescape

An early fall tablescape, using shades of green.

Happy First Day of Fall! It’s official and the season is finally here. Our neck of the woods even had a reprieve from the record-setting heat. In honor of our favorite season, I’m sharing an early fall tablescape.

On a sidenote – Jenn is in Ireland on a 10 day inspection tour for her day job. Admittedly, I am a tad jealous – even though I know she runs ragged on these trips. I have volunteered on many occasions to be her personal assistant. For some reason, she has never accepted my offer 😂

Where’s the Great Pumpkin?

Up until a week ago, pumpkins were elusive in my area. I decided to get creative and decorate with a different look for fall. 

Green is not an obvious choice

Typically when I first think of Fall I dream in shades of orange, rust, gold, white and brown. These traditional colors can be found in many of our Fall posts which you can view HERE. 

Inspiration struck when I found these paper placemats. The gray buffalo check and fern green wreath are so pretty. The napkins are from my stash as well as the wicker napkin rings. If memory serves me correctly, the set of 4 napkins rings were $1 from the thrift store. I also made place card holders by cutting pieces of wood and sawing slits in the middle.

Place cards were cut into maple leaf shapes using cream colored card stock. 

The center of the table was filled with silvery, dried greenery. Eucalyptus sprinkled with miniature white velvet pumpkins looks so soft and pretty.

A pillar candle placed in the center is still low enough to enable us to see guests across the table.

A couple of years ago, I made copper mercury glass votives. These were nestled on top of chunky weathered wood candlesticks. 

Green with Envy

My topiary looks perfect on the table too. 

Gray plates topped with checked salad plates fit the bill. I still wanted to maintain a casual table, but also make it pretty.

As an early fall tablescape, this fern green is perfect.
