We hope you had a great weekend! Yesterday was a beautiful day, which inspired me to get some outdoor projects done. One of them was an herb garden I had been wanting to do once the weather got warmer. And lucky for me, Sunday was just the day.
I already had a vision for my project and I just needed to get a few items. This weekend we did some thrifting and I found this great step ladder that I thought would be perfect for what I wanted to accomplish…and it was a deal at $4! It was already painted gray and I know it looks a bit worn, but that is exactly the look I wanted.
I also had to purchase the terracotta pots and herbs…the pots were less than $2 each and the herbs were less than $4.
I knew I wanted to paint the pots a different color, as well as add chalkboard paint to them. Lucky for me I already had the paint from previous projects, so there was no extra cost there 🙂
I just used painters tape to make the squares of where the chalkboard paint would go. I didn’t measure and just did it by sight, which is pretty much the 2 Bees way.
I did 3 coats of chalkboard paint since you could see the strokes after the first one…
Once everything was dry I planted my herbs and now I have a great new addition to my home, which I love! And each completed pot cost less than $7…a great deal in my book.
I can’t wait to cook with my herbs…stay tuned for the vegetable garden we’ll be doing soon 🙂
