As I promised you last week..today I am revealing the completed closet makeover. For me, the transformation is unreal. Remember what my closet looked like before the work began?
You can read last weeks post with the story and photos of the “before” here…
And without further adieu, this is what my closet looks like now:
This was previously unused space behind the door:
I am in love with this space now! The shelves, crown moulding, the built-out flooring and the high hung bars. As i stated previously, this closet is an odd shaped triangle. The completed closet feels so much larger and grander even though the shelves take up more space.
And now I get to do this…(insert squealing noise).
I’ve started staging the space for Spring and Summer.
I have just started on the shoe shelves.
The crown moulding is the crowning glory to the closet.
I am super excited to finally have a space that will house my dresses. Previously, there was no space tall enough – I pretty much wear sundresses all Spring and Summer, so I am very happy that my dresses have a very large space now.
I’m still bringing everything back into the closet. You can see how much more space there is…
When I designed this space I knew that I wanted one of the shelves to be used as an outfit staging area. One shelf holds a lot of my jewelry – it really makes putting an outfit together so much easier.
I purchased all of the jewelry holders on clearance at HomeGoods…
So…what do y’all think? I am just amazed that this closet can hold so much more of everything now – clothes, shoes, hats, and luggage. My dresses and pants are now off the floor – no longer having to hang on low wire racks. My shoes are on shelves where I can clearly see them – no longer stuffed in a canvas wall bag.
I was very fortunate that this was not a costly project. The contractors were already working on an outdoor project at our house and it was a slow work period for them. It was a win-win situation for us both – especially me 🙂 and I am very grateful!
Now…time to go shopping! Don’t tell Honey Bee 🙂
Fabulous. You will really enjoy it. I’m jealous, I can’t hang dresses or long nightgowns in my closet either. Yes, you definitely need more shoes, shop, shop, shop! It is very nicely done, have fun!
Thanks so much Patty! Previously, my closet was a challenging nightmare for organization. I am so happy with my new closet design – every item of clothing has a place now 🙂
