Hey y’all…I sincerely hope that you aren’t tired of quick and inexpensive artwork projects, because today I have a doozie for you. I think it is super cute and it just might be my new fave! It took about 2 minutes to create and cost less that $10!!! Are you ready to get started?
It all began with this adorable farmhouse flour sack kitchen towel. I mean really – how could I pass this cutie up? And for just $3.99 at Target I thought it was a great deal!
Whenever I see cute towels like this I pick them up. Typically I use them for pillows like my Queen Mum cover for my desk area.
On my way home from the store, I remembered that I had this artist canvas at home. I purchased it awhile back from Hobby Lobby and it was 50% off of this price. So that makes this nice-sized canvas just $4.50. Did you know that Hobby Lobby runs their discounts on a weekly rotation basis? Get familiar with your store and your prices. Typically twice a month these canvases are discounted. Just for FYI purposes I plan to head to Hobby Lobby before Sunday. They are offering the 16×20 canvases in a 2-pack for just $7.99. I have an idea to use them for at Christmas. Just thought you would want to know – that is a fantastic deal and NO – I don’t work for them LOL. I just get excited with a great deal and want you to be excited too!
IÂ wanted to use my new farmhouse towel as artwork. I change out my art seasonally or as my mood sees fit, so that is often. I never spend a lot of money for art or these projects so I never feel guilty about changing it out.
Okay – back to the directions. Don’t blink because you will miss the whole thing. I laid out the towel and placed the canvas on top. I trimmed the edges being very careful not to cut the design.
I then simply used my hot glue gun. I folded under each side one at a time and glued the cloth into place. I started at the bottom and then pulled the cloth taut and glued the top, following with each side.
And here it is…
I told you it was cute!
Here I have the canvas resting on the frame, but this can easily be hung on the wall.
I really love how crisp the graphic is…
You know we love cotton bolls…
I hope that I inspired you today to create something for your home. It doesn’t need to cost a lot of money to be cute, charming, pretty, etc. to be fabulous! You can do it!
Until tomorrow…
Love it!! What a great idea!!
Hi Keri – thank you so very much!
What a great idea! I’ve been looking for a way to hang and display a world map…besides just putting it in a frame. I think that I’m going to combine this idea and elements of your ‘picture printed on tissue paper’ instructions to hang the map on a canvas. Thanks for the inspiration! Bambi
Thanks Bambi! This would work great for a map! Can’t wait to see what it looks like!
Well, doggone, that’s just genius!! Love your animal towel plus this opens up all sorts of possibilities!! Thanks ladies!
Hey Angie – thanks so much! We think the possibilities are endless!
Vicki, oh my gosh this was way too cute!! Love the animals and how smart to use a dish towel. Amazing. Have a great day, Lisa
Hey Lisa – you are too kind! I just loved the kitchen towel and knew I had to create something! Love how it turned out.
Ok this is seriously the cutest thing I’ve seen all day! I hope this is in my crate because if not it needs to be – love love love! Hugs, CoCo
CoCo – thank you! This may need to be shipped in the next crate. The first one is full 🙂

Hey Cat…thanks bunches! We try to be as resourceful as possible! Cheers to a great weekend!
Well isn’t that darling! Great idea Vicki!
This is adorable! I need to run to Target and get some of those adorable tea towels. Thanks of the amazing idea! And keep the easy art projects coming.
Target has the best kitchen towels! I always buy them to include in gift baskets I am making. This is so neat how you turned this into art!
