Welcome to Christmas in the She Shed! A few weeks ago we shared with you the reveal of our She Shed makeover and we were thrilled that you love it just as much as we do! The Hive, as we lovingly named it, is all decked out in Christmas splendor.

Thank you to Caroline from Organize Nashville for hosting today’s Simply Seasonal blog hop!  Not only are we sharing Christmas in the She Shed – we are going to be sharing with each of you our holiday tips on how we get our homes ready for holidays. If you are coming from, Simple Nature Decor, welcome!  We’re so glad you are here!

We went with a little bit of a retro theme in the she shed by using red and teal ornaments and we love how it turned out! It is definitley ready for a Christmas party.

5 Christmas Decorating Tips:

  • Start with a theme and color palette. Our Christmas decor inspiration came from the cute deer sign. We immediately thought of using turquoise and red decorations. Our theme became Retro Christmas.
  • Utilize the dollar store. The majority of our Christmas decorations came from our local Dollar Tree. The deer sign, ornaments, ribbon and more. You don’t need to spend a lot of money for pretty decor.
  • Fresh greenery. Typically all of our greenery is FREE.  Saving clippings when we purchase our Christmas tree is the first thing that we do. We also very sweetly ask to take several more pieces of greenery clippings from the Christmas tree lot – we have never been turned down 🙂 Also, greenery is saved from our own pine trees after a storm. These are all so fragrant and beautiful filler.
  • Use what you already own. Typically, we love to mix-and-match our Christmas decor every year. Moving things around from room to room keeps decor fresh. We love using trays, baskets and bowls. One of our most favorite ways to decorate is by using vintage and family heirlooms. This instantly warms up a space and makes it more special.
  • Be creative! Let your personality shine. For example – we added the simple “North Pole” tag to our cork globe. It took just a second to make and it makes us smile. This is also a great way to save money. You can read our post HERE about budget friendly ornaments.

Often you can find large statement ornaments, like the one here, at the Dollar Store. This definitely gives a little pop to the tree.

Another thing we love to do is to keep it simple on the coffee table. By using a basket we already had, we just incorporated a few Christmas elements to give the table a little character.

This adorable little deer sign was a Dollar Store find. And the inspiration for our color theme in the she shed.

The shelves also got a little spruce up (no pun intended) by adding some live greenery and ornaments. Also, isn’t that north pole tag on the globe cute?

We of course couldn’t not decorate the bar area a little bit as well. We really wanted to highlight the area with red, which really pops.
