Sharing with y’all today simple fall mantel decor!

It’s October, one of our favorite months of the year. We’re all about sweater weather and luckily our temperatures have cooled down. While we were already in the fall spirit, the brisk morning air gets us even more excited for our favorite season. Today I’m sharing a simple fall mantel decor with items I already had at home. With a baby on the way, my purchases for home decor have been overtaken by purchases for baby bee.

One of the things we loved about this home when we first saw it was all of the charm and character it has. It was built in 1901 and a lot of the original details are still in tact, like this mantel. In all honesty, the wood is a little orange for our liking, but we haven’t been able to bring ourselves to paint it.

I am much more into the neutrals this year for fall, which you saw with my fall tiered tray decor, as well as my fall entryway. And I wanted to keep this going with my simple fall mantel decor as well. I love shopping my home for items, as I always have things here and there that will work. Plus, it’s free, which is the best!

Believe it or not, I got these vase fillers from the dollar store last year. What a great deal! They could be used all year round, but are really perfect for fall with the natural tones. And this old dough bowl was a purchase from a thrift store years ago. I love how rustic it looks.

The eucalyptus adds a little more warmth with the green, as well as some height. I use this arrangement quite a bit in my decor, as it is so versatile.

Quick Tip

Get some books from your local Goodwill or thrift store to use in your home decor. If there is a particular color we are wanting to use, we’ll find books to match. Then when you get home, take the covers off and turns the books with the pages facing out. It’s an inexpensive and easy way to decorate!

Dried hydrangeas are perfect for fall decor and add a little more height to the top of the mantel. I also had a vintage amber bottle I hadn’t used in my tiered tray and thought the wheat would be the perfect addition. Luckily I had some in my fall stash from a mantel I did a few years ago.

Someone decided that they wanted to be my little “helper” along the way. She was too cute to disturb!

  1. Love the neutral mantel! The wood mantel itself is gorgeous!!!! Is it original to the home?

    1. Thank you, Mary! Yes, the fireplace is original and we are so fortunate. The previous owners kept a lot of the original details, which we love.
