Our outdoor themed nursery reveal has been a labor of love. We took inspiration from a few areas to create a sophisticated yet fun nursery.
Y’all, I am soooo excited to finally show you the outdoor themed nursery reveal! Baby bee will be here any day and we’ve been working hard on the nursery to get it just right. We wanted to create a space that he could grow into, play in, but was also a little sophisticated. He’s certainly already spoiled and so loved!
If you saw our design plan, you know that vintage national park posters were the main inspiration behind the room. We also wanted to choose vintage posters that reflected places we had been and held special memories for us. Places that we hope to take him someday and create new memories as a family. The color of the posters also provided the opportunity for us to use blue in the room and surprise surprise, the color palette is mainly blue and white. But it looks so good in our opinion.
Now for the Nursery Reveal
Easy DIY Project
Mom and I made these easy no sew curtains from fabric she found at a local fabric store. The pattern and color are perfect for the room. I had wanted these Pottery Barn curtains, but they were a little out of my budget. These curtains turned out great though and mom and I had fun making them together.
The rug is also the perfect color and pattern as well. Right when we saw it, we knew it would fit right into the room and decor.
Lucky for us, we had already painted this dresser a while ago and it fits in perfectly with the room. It also makes for the perfect changing table as well.
This quote from J.R.R. Tolkein pretty much sums up what is in store for us with the addition of our new arrival.
I love this little reading nook with the rocking chair. This is the chair that my parents had with me, so it has a lot of sentimental value. I’m so happy that we get to share it with our little guy now. It needed a little bit of paint to modernize it, as well as fit into the style of room. You can see that project here.
The pouf was also a nice addition from Target and brought a more of a natural element to the room. It will certainly become a versatile piece over the years.
We definitely wanted to incorporate vintage pieces into the outdoor themed nursery. This is a globe I had that was being under utilized and I knew it would go great in the room.
Pretty much every room in this house has a mantel, which I love and it adds so much character. Again we used some vintage pieces on the mantel from thrifted finds, as well as a bear I had when I was younger. The pendant poster was going to be used in another part of the nursery, but it didn’t quite work. However, it looks great on the closet door.
This deer iron fireplace cover is one of my favorite pieces in our home and we’re fairly certain it is original to the house. Does this not fit in perfectly with the theme?
Love this Georgia map that we found at a local antique store years ago and had done nothing with it. We got the print for an amazing deal and all it needed was a frame.
These cuddle + kind dolls are just the cutest! And they are for a good cause as each purchase provides 10 meals to children in need.
We hope you are as excited about the nursery reveal as we are! It’s definitely been a labor of love and we can’t wait for our little one to arrive.
