Home Office Makeover – Week 2 $100 Room Challenge

We are so excited to share our progress on our home office makeover. Week 2 was a big transformation as the room is painted!

As a reminder, Erin from Lemons, Lavender, and Laundry started this challenge a couple of years ago. You can read more about that here. Basically a group of very talented bloggers get together to take on renovating a space for $100 or less! We have 1 month to complete the challenge and the hope is to have a swoon worthy room at the end, all while staying within budget.

Before

Let’s take a look back to the home office before we painted. This khaki brown color was okay for a masculine wall color. We just tired of it (okay, me, I got tired of it) LOL.

After

Take a look at the difference!

The walls weren’t even dry yet when we took these photos.

After some debate, we finally agreed on a paint color. When I say “we”, I mean that Jenn and I did give Honey Bee some choice in the selection. Ultimately, this is his home office and he spends a great deal of time in this room.

We are all very happy with the color. Valspar’s Shining Armor seemed like the perfect choice in more ways than one. A perfect blue/gray that is definitely a warm color.

Jenn is coming over this weekend so we can work on more of the room details. Specifically, retrieve items from our storage unit, furniture placement and art creation.

We are feeling fairly confident thus far. Having a few room makeovers under our belts, we know that everything doesn’t typically run smoothly or go to our plans. We’ll see what the week brings!

To-Do List

  1. Clear the room
  2. Paint all of the walls
  3. Go to storage unit to search for furniture
  4. Create an art piece with vintage oars
  5. Home for the computer
  6. Storage solutions
  7. Add new artwork
  8. Move desk to new location
  9. Furniture placement

  5. That is such a pretty blue color. The paint chip just doesn’t do it justice. Seems just clearing and painting makes such a difference that it charges you up for the rest of the work.
